Straps in the armpits
I am SO fed up with bras where the straps get lodged in my armpits and rub, chafe, and cut in all day. I don't understand why full-bust bra manufacturers space the straps so far apart at the front.
My boobs are set pretty low on my chest, and I have a small concavity at the top near my armpit where there isn't any more breast tissue, so when I wear balconettes there's some empty space right at that spot. The Cleo Lucy is a classic example of this problem. I spend the whole day grabbing the strap-cup interface and tugging it towards my front, away from my armpit, trying to close that gap and stop the strap from attacking my armpits.
Does anyone else have issues with armpit strap and/or that little gap in the cup near the armpit? Any recommendations for non-pointy, unpadded bras with close-set straps at the front? I'm thinking about cutting and re-sewing the straps on my Ewa Michalak CHP Mak. Can't do that with balconettes like the Lucy, though, because the straps are a continuation of the cups.

I have exactly that issue! I have gaping no matter how short the straps in my so far best fit bra panache tango 2 and the Luxe. The Luxe has lower wires though so it doesn't dig under my arm like the tango did. I have low set breasts and narrow shoulders and I'm just guessing I am supposed to find bras with shorter underwrites and narrower straps...
I agree. I'm short, 5'1" and round..175 lbs and so far on my budget I've only been able to try two bras. Both dug into my armpits so bad I've got one up here for sale and I've altered the other beyond all recognition. I took almost two inches off the side wings and 3/4 inch off the wires on a Flirtelle 34G. Now I can wear it for more than a couple hours. My big problem is that most wired bras slip down my torso when I sit. My boobs are a bit pendulous and not deep from top to bottom and even with the band so tight it leaves welts, the bra will slide down. Any suggestions?
