This bikini makes me feel inept, every time I tried to put it on I had to do so backwards. Then turn it around, I can't imagine doing this with a smaller better fitting band. I hate the back clasp, it's cheesy plastic... I hate plastic. But the design of that clasp, I couldn't figure it out without having it in front, I didn't want to force it because it just felt so cheesy. The back clasp cracked about a week ago. I've worn this three times for a max of 6 hours. How did it break, oh by putting it on how I should have been ... all along, with the clasp in the back! Bleh. This coming from a woman who as a child played with my grandmother's porcelain antique figures and not even chip one.
So this was on sale, and I wasn't confident in my size. But really the band wasn't providing much support if any anyway and the cups hovered away from my breast at the bottom with the straps tightened. Yes, some of it could have been my sizing error, but I hate plastic. It was rather pretty, damn.
I however love the poppy print and ruffles. I'm a fan of red and greens that don't make you think of Christmas. I also like unique florals, that don't scream grandma or moo moo. It has a certain rockabilly flair about this print. The matching bottoms fit weird and rode up, down and all around. But I adore that it has tie sides, and not fake ones, I've always wanted a bikini bottom with that. The ruffle on the bum was a nice addition. The waist height seemed ok though, I can't quite place what made it ride up though.
If Curvy Kate was listening I hope next season has a better way to close the back of the bikini top, and bring back the print. Even though I got the wrong size it was reasonably comfortable and gave a decent shape, and fit better then all of my poor fitting bras. I wonder if a tie back would have been better?
