ohmyohmy commented on Full on top boobs and best bra fit by alisa

I think it's mainly genetics and nipple placement. I was always fuller on top before my reduction regardless of size. It might be more obvious with weight gain because of more fulness all over. As is, someone who is a 2/4 on ABTF fullness chart might become a 3/5 when gaining weight. Both are fuller on top, but it will be more noticeable in a 3/5.

Based on conversations with fitters and store owners, it is a less common shape overall. Most women are fuller on bottom, then even and a minority are fuller on top.
My reduction took me from FOT to even and I feel that this had as much impact on fitting bras better as dropping 8 cup sizes!
Bras I hate old blog posts are still online and I find them extremely useful in learning how to deal with a FOT shape. I'm also extremely close set and altering the gore by sewing it smaller has been a life saver for gaining both immediate projection in the center and openness on top.

Reviving this as I'm launching a new column in the Hourglassy blog about post-reduction boobs in the D-G range. My first post is up and I'm planning some bralettes reviews next.

@Fairy89 Thanks! I've been waiting for a new colourway forever. I already have a black bralette. The neon orange was sold out in my size and I was afraid of the white not staying white for a long time.

Is this the new Cornflower colourway? I didn't like it on the website, as it looked like a washed out blue, but on your picture it looks like a lovely shade of grey. There are mixed reviews about sizing up or sizing down in this. I might end up ordering two sizes.

alisa Yes, that is the quote I shared. My guess is that it is a full cup like the Lulu. Basically, the reviews are good from customers in the G- range and bad in the GG+ range. They have lots of customers ordering from abroad who can only rely on the pictures and have to pay for returns, so that's pretty unfair.

I was browsing through Bravissimo sales and it seems that the Anais bra is doing the same thing as the Lulu, except there are no pictures of it in GG+. The most recent review is from a very disappointed large cup customer. I'm wondering what the bra looks like in the larger cup range. "Above a GG cup, this style has an extra lace section at the top of the cup to give a little more coverage and support."

I was cleared to wear wired bras at 6 weeks post-op. Prior to that, I was in a surgical bra 24/7 (except under the shower!). My first and best fitting wired bra is the Simone Pérèle featuring in my bras in Bratabase. I typically wear this or another wired bra during the day and a Freya bralette at night. I've only started recently to sometimes sleep braless. Before the surgery, ABTF calculator had me at a 34L UK but I had to size up to get enough volume and projection. Unlike you, I didn't have narrow roots (but most bras in J+ cup are too wide even with average or widish roots), but I'm very close set and inner full and my main issue was finding enough projection at the gore. Now I can easily find gore low enough to accommodate for this. Feel free to PM me if you have any question.

Crazy! I'm in the exact same boat (as in similar starting size and ending size) except that I am almost 3 months post-op. Replying so that I remember to post later.
In short, good news is that reduced breasts are shallower, that is wider and taller than not surgically altered breasts. That means that your narrow roots might not be a problem anymore. Bad news is deswellling may not bring you to a smaller size. ABTF calculator had me at 34FF/34G 2 weeks post op and at 34G/GG 2 months post-op. Only difference is I initially felt more comfortable in a 36 band. Advice: not to invest in too many bras as things may still change/fluctuate quite a bit.

@cupandahalf exactly! That's what I meant when I said they should have separate product pages. Also, they usually state when there is double lining in larger cups, but in most cases there are no pictures of the altered bra and in the few cases where there is a picture, the bra is not modelled. It makes it seem like the larger cups are an afterthought. Larger cups customers should be able to see what their bras will look like.

When I first saw the Lulu bra, I almost bought it before seeing what it looked like in my size. Mmm no thanks. At least there was a picture this time.

I don't mind adjustments like thicker straps or wider bands in larger cups, but I hate the double lining. And I hate even more that it usually isn't in picture. Some bras look completely different in larger sizes. They should have their own product page in my opinion.

ohmyohmy wrote a review 80F - Simone Perele » Delice Full Coverage Plunge (12X319)

This is the "triangle emboîtant" or"full cup plunge", a classic shape in Simone Pérèle bras. It is a true plunge, but with full coverage, managing to pair a very low gore with good support. To a certain extent, it reminds me of Elomi plunges, not in the look, but in the feel. Bratabase sizes me as a 34FF UK and the fitter said I would need a 95G(36F)/90H(34FF) in their half cups after I tried one, but in this shape, I can fit into an F. Yay!
The colour is a beautiful bright orange and the picture doesn't do it justice.Orange sanguine/Blood orange colorway

alisa, just saw your comment. I'm sending you a PM. I never tried the Victory, but the main thing about Madagascar when it fitted me was that it tacked (which is really really rare for me).

I have issues with not enough projection at the gore in most bras and Curvy Kate are no exception. The only one that ever fit me was Madagascar in a 36K, when I measured a 34KK. Except for that Ellace was promising, but it is the only bra to ever give me in cup quadboob

I think Lumingerie is Finnish. They do sell a lot of Polish brands though and I've noticed that Polish companies translate unpadded as "soft", and use "semi-soft" for bras that are padded in the bottom part and unpadded in the top section. They will specify "wireless" when describing actual soft cup bra.
