Trying to decide

While out looking for some new better fitting bras I've been frequenting a couple Kohl's location and Nordstrom Rack in hopes of find something in my size. A couple of the Kohl's locations near me have a decent selection of returned online only bras at amazing prices, unfortunately none of them have been my size. At Nordstroms they ... have a few 32DD and 32DDD bras in the stock, I wish they had some in 30DDD/E, I've only been able to try on one in that size Von Maur and it was a pretty good fit although I think the band ran a bit which I know could be fixed with an extender, but it was also a bra that I'm pretty sure can easily be found online for less.

I've tried on the same bra at Nordstrom Rack twice now, it's a Betsey Johnson in 32DD, it seems to fit fairly well. The only fit issue is that I have small bit of gap on the right breast mostly near the gore. My other issue is just that it is lacy and has some black in it. I tend to stick to fairly basic bras and am always concerned about lace showing through. Although I might be able to get over the lace, I just would like some advice about the fit. I added a link with some pics, I think the gap looks worse in the photo due to the way have to hold the phone for the pic.

• Looks like a pretty decent fit to me! Beautiful bra btw, I like the design!

  Unless you wear white every day I wouldn't worry about the lines of the black lace :)
  

• I don't know why I worry about lace or colors other than nude so much, I rarely wear white and usually wear t-shirts. I think I stick with nude and occasionally black just because they can go under anything without any thought. I'm going to try to get out of that habit.

• Yes, we have plenty of those.
  If the model is added, we should have configure it to accept SML sizes.
  If it is not here, now you will see an option to indicate its type of sizing as you add it (whether it uses letters, numbers, EU, etc)

What size to get in EM Kicia - and PL style not available?

Lately I've been wondering if I need narrower and deeper cups than I have in my current bra collection. I mostly have Freya decos, some Curvy Kate's, some Cleo (Marcie, maya) and some Panache (like Jasmine and Envy). Most wires seem a bit wide on me nowadays.

So I've sort of been wanting to try Ewa Michalak and I ... absolutely ADORE the Kicia (leopard with red lines and black lace). But now I'm wondering what size to choose. I guess I'm mostly FoT, fairly projected, tall-ish roots and I mostly wear 30GG (or sometimes 30H) in UK sizes.

I've already tried do to some research but I would really like to order the correct size - so any advice is greatly appreciated! If it helps, my underbust - tight: 74 cm / 29 inch and laying perimeter 28 cm / 11 inch?

Reading CurvyWordy's review on Kicia, the band seems to run tight. So I'm guessing 70GG/ 32GG or perhaps 34G? How FoT friendly are EM S styles considered in general; comparable to Deco for instance? I prefer slightly small over too-large bras (some mild quadding rather than gaping). The cookies in Kicia / S styles should help prevent gaping though.

Also there seems to have been a Kicia PL plunge style available - but no longer on Ewa's site? BumbleBean, you added the plunge in January (sorry for the stalk (? As I prefer lower gores, do you (or anyone else) know if it's worth asking to have that custom made (don't suppose EM does that)?

• In Freya Deco I wear a 28FF since I found Freya Deco bands to run a bit big. In EM I purchase 65FF's. I find their band lengths to be inconstant. Most of my EM's I have to wear on the tighter hooks, yet some fit perfect on the loosest hook. I always error on the side of having a bigger band because they can be taken in vs having to wear an extender (just my preference) with a too small band. For reference I have very round projected, narrow root, short rooted breast with implants. Definitely take advantage of using the measurements of your best fitting bra and compare it with the EM bras listed. That's how I started out when first ordering EM bras. On a side note, when I use EM's online size calculator it says 65F. If anything I'm between their FF and G cups.

• and I wear a 30FF in Deco and a 70FF or 65G in Ewa Michalak. That bra is on my eventual own list too!

I have a wedding coming up here soon, and was thinking of getting a strapless dress. Which means I need a strapless bra! Can anyone tell me which is better, Curvy Kate Luxe or Wonderbra? I think I fit into Wonderbra's size range now. My favorite bras right now, that fit the best, are Curvy Kate ... Ritzy in 30GG and Curvy Kate Tease in 30GG. I still have to use an extender on these, but the 32 band rides up. I'm super saggy, empty, and close set. Should I get the Luxe in 32GG since its more closed on top? What size would I look for if I'd get a Wonderbra? Thanks for any tips!

• I don't know about wonderbra that much but I can tell about CK luxe and it's very shallow and pretty much closed on the top compared with tease me and after read your story on this I recommend you try luxe 32GG

• I have been a b.tempt'd fan for many years and own multiple b.tempt'd styles. b.tempt'd bras (at least the ones I have tried) were uniformily shallow. some of them were great for tall roots, some of them were great for short roots, and they all seem to be good for people with far apart breasts. I don't know if they will fit pendulous shaped people, but I do know that they usually do not fit projected people very well.

• Thanks for this Saskia_C - I would say I am projected, but my tissue is soft, so sometimes I can get away with shallower styles.... hmmm... It looks so damn stunning in red...

• Her calculator is accurate for me. It gives me 65F and that's what I wear in the softcups.
  Whenever I see something asking for a tight measurement, I just assume they're looking for the OMGICANTBREATHE measurement, so that's what I put in.

• The calculator works for me as well. It gives me a 70DD which is exactly the size I'm wearing in most of her bra styles.

  (Many people forget the 'bust' measurement refers to the leaning forward measurement, but that's important to get adequate results.)

• If you're in the US(certain parts & I THINK some areas of Canada) check for a Nordstrom, or Nordstrom rack.

  Intimacy is another, but I'm unsure of their locations. I'm in northeast US.

  Also by your measurements, a 30C might even be available at Aerie or VS. I've never actually seen them in stores, but I know at least Aerie has them. You may want to consider trying a 30D or 32C(more readily available) as well. Reason being, your 34A is a sister size of 30C. If 34A makes you spill, it's likely the wrong shape or too small in the cup. 30C is basically the same "cup" as 34A. :)

  Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx, Ross..a few other places that occasionally sell sub 32 bands. :) good luck!

• I am in the United States (: Do you think a 32C would work? I have tried to find 30C's before and they aren't easy to find in store...
  Edit:: 3 of my good friends (Two which are twins) who are smaller busted all wear Target's Xhilaration bras. They love them. According to reveiws online, the band sizes run small so a 34C would be a 32C. They only carry 34C's in store though. I would like to try that brand and bra as my friends rave about it. Do you think that would be a good size to try in that brand??

• She claims she doesnt use UK sizing actually and that its 'her own' method >.< The cups do run the same as UK (and by that i just mean the order of letters!) but it seems like most typically have to size up from their UK size in EM bras, especially the padded ones! Sorry im not much more help! But its definitely not unusual to wear a larger Polish size! :)

• I wear non-padded in the same as my UK size, but some ppl go up a size on the padded. i'm a 32J (and dont own any EM padded)

• I'd say either 70KK or 70L. It's common to size up 1-2 cups for the padded bras, especially the PL if you tend to fall out of plunges.

• Ahhh I just commented and accidentally deleted it.

  I never got cleavage in my poor fitting bras. A little pushup, but an awkward looking one.

  I'm splayed, but closer set once lifted. I'd recommend keeping your eyes out for Ewa Ch/chp (maybe someone else can chime in here with size suggestions because I'm new to Ewa Michalak bras), Comexim plunges, and Freya Deco. They all work pretty nicely for me, personally and seem to be good cleavage /uplifting bras from reviews I've read.

  You might want to try 65H or 70G in Comexim(I'm 30E and seem good with 65G), and Freya Deco is available in 30F.

  Those 3 are pretty narrow wired also, so you may want to try figuring out your root width :)
  If you have wide roots(tissue goes under your armpits), they could sit on your breast tissue.

  Maybe someone else knows some good cleavage-y bras for wide roots?

  If you're super wide set or shallow, that may explain, but I'm sure you can still find something for cleavage. Here's something that may be helpful:

• Also, the difference between 32DD and 30F is one cup volume. So basically, 30F=the same cup volume as 32DDD, with a 32" ribcage. So 32DDD is a sister size to 30F.
  

  For sister sizing, basically go up a band and down a letter, or down one band, and up a letter.
  Example: 30F= 32E/DDD, or down a band 30F= 28FF.

• Any particular styles? I've never bought from comexim before but I've been meaning to! I've just been looking at their plunges, so I'm not very familiar with other styles.

• The Polish brands are narrow. Ewa Michalak, Comexim, and Anna Pardal. Avocado has some styles that are wider than others, but they're still narrower than UK. Sizing is tricky, particularly with Ewa Michalak. I find the on site calculator accurate, but lots of women don't. Comexim doesn't use double letters, and they run small. You can find Ewa Michalak and Comexim up for resale pretty often.
  There's also Samanta which goes on sale at Zulily often, and Kris Line which you can find on Amazon. Ewa Bien is another one and it's on eBay, but I have no experience with any of those brands.

  As for UK brands Panache Jasmine seems to be a common recommendation for anyone looking for projection.
  I think Cleo Marcie (and similar cuts) is supposed to be decently projected and narrow at a certain size range, but I don't know what range it is.
  I've also read that some of the unlined Freyas are fairly narrow for a UK brand, but I have no experience so I can't direct you to any models.

• I am narrow too, and I hate wires going to the middle of my armpits.

  Bras that work for me:
  Gossard Glossies Moulded Bra (6271) (although the sizing is different between colors)
  Claudette Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000) (sizing is different between years)
  Other Claudette bras? I haven't figured out the sizing of the Claudette Paramour Underwire Bra (101015008), but the wires are definitely narrow enough
  Panache Andorra Full Cup Bra (5675)

• The Freya Deco is super soft. But Freya bands are notoriously big. I have found Fantasie bands to run loose too, but not quite to the degree of Freya. I know nothing about Fauve.

• All my Fauves have stretchy bands. Not loose, per se; if you measure the unstretched band mine are true to size. But they stretch a lot. And they are very, very comfortable in a luxury way. I have found most of my Fantasies to have very firm bands that hardly stretch at all even over time. They are also very comfortable and soft, with a few exceptions (I do not have the Rebecca which I understand is large in the band). Freya on the other hand? I had to size down in the band (I only have half-cups)not because it was so stretchy but because it was just too darn large.

• Try some plunge styles! They will have a lower gore and tend to have narrower cups. In your size they should be amply supportive if you have firm breasts. Freya Deco Plunge, Freya Dare, and Curvy Kate Roxie are all more narrow wired and reasonably priced. If you look on Ebay, Konrad might be a great option. They only go up to E cup but they have very cute styles in 28 band. They're Polish so I'd guess the wires are narrower.

• +1 for plunge cuts. If you like Curvy Kate, Erica from A Sophisticated Pair posted some reviews a while back of the newer CK plunges, Daisy Chain and Dare. She's at the higher end of their size range, but she commented that the Dare in particular has narrower wires and more projection than a lot of their older styles.

  As for a nude t-shirt bra, I'd definitely recommend trying Comexim's Basic. Be warned that it runs about half a cup smaller than their other plunge bras though. If you're in the US and nervous about trying to order directly from Comexim, I've been told that Erica (mentioned above) is really good about helping choose the right Comexim size.

• no help from me, but keep in mind it'll loosen up when wet if she plans on actually swimming in it

• I'm assuming she knows that, she actually wears bikinis (unlike me!) But I find it hard to believe that she fits a 34 to begin with. Unless there is something really off about this one model.
