• Yes, Tutti Rouge tends to have broad wires. They also have hella tight bands.

• runs_with_scissors I've got quite a thread going a few adventures down about Tutti Rouge's Liliana bra lol. The general consensus is they are known for some wide wide wide bras.

• I've ordered directly from Comexim in the past month or 2, and only really noticed that their bands start off tighter, and, if anything, the cups are larger.

  Have you tried the Basic before? Because it runs about a cup size small compared to their other models, anyway.

  I haven't ordered from Wellfitting in awhile, but when I used to frequently, I found sizing inconsistencies between bras directly from Wellfitting and from Comexim.

• I tried a Basic 9 months ago through Wellfitting and it is a different fit from these new Basics, also through Wellfitting.

  Are the tags from Comexim still white with the pink butterfly? My old Basic has the Comexim tag. But these new ones from Wellfitting have black tags with "Comexim for Wellfitting" with Comexim in tiny font.

  I think the proper jargon is that these new Basics seem to be "reduced" as in the cups have less height especially the side of the cup. I like how my old Basic was tall and deep.

  I contacted Wellfitting and they said the manufacturer (Comexim) changed the pattern. So I'm wondering if it applies to all Comexim bras or only "Comexim for Wellfitting."

• How firm do you like your bands? I was reliably a 32H in most other styles (including Cleo Lily) when I bought my Colette in a 30HH, and I'd say the cup ran true to size but the band was pretty big for a 30 (felt more like a 32). With this in mind I think the 36GG may feel very loose in the band for you, especially if you are wearing 34 bands in Cleo and like the fit.

• Hmmm, good to know! I think what I am more confused about, in general, is the cup depth. For example, when I measured my bras Melissa and Darcy both had 12.5in cup depth...but Darcy fits and Melissa doesn't. I also have a Panache Fern that measure 13in in cup depth and I can still get some 'quading' in it. I know that they are different cuts, but is Darcy considered to be very open on top compared to other bras?

Mimi Holliday Bra Sizing?

A while back I tried a Mimi Holliday bra that didn't work out for me,but I'm still smitten with their designs.Since then,they have reduced the range of sizes they carry.I was reading on a blog about them and the writer said after 2013,because so many people said their bras ran too small,so Mimi Holliday changed the grading to fit larger than normal.Has anyone tried one from 2014-15 and can give their thoughts? Maybe there is still hope to fit in one or two.

• I have the Mimi Holliday Rocket Lace Fully Padded Super Plunge in 28F which is the size I normally take. I think it fits pretty shallow and true to size (if you are shallow) but I think you're supposed to size down actually to get cleavage. Apparently the gore is not supposed to tack (mine doesn't since the gore is so wide, but it doesn't hurt because the wires are really soft)

• I usually wear 30E, sometimes 28F, in UK bras.

  I have two Mimi's, one padded and one unpadded. In the padded, I found the 28 a bit tight in Mimi and tried 30E. It was very close, but a tiny small in the cup, so I went with 30F (unusual size for me). The unpadded 30E fits great, but the band is a teeny bit loose. I think the 28F may work in that one as well. I did feel like I was very in between band sizes in Mimi, with 28 too tight and 30 a tad big. 30 is wearable, though.

  So, I would say they are pretty true to size (may depend on the style).

  These bras are not really made for support. They are gorgeous and feel luxurious, but are more for feeling pretty than daily support. Still, we all have a place in our lives for that :)

Things I ponder while browsing bratabase over my glass of wine: Armpit fat. What's the verdict... does everyone except the very very thin have a bit of it? Is it actually breast tissue? Is there a bra out there that doesn't cause it? I'm kind of repeating a comment I made on one of my ... fit issues, but to summarize:

I have a small rib cage but I have back & armpit fat. Genetically - I carry my weight in my upper body. I've noticed strapless/multiway bras tend to have wider/taller bands all around that hold that fat in, whereas so many regular bras are cut diagonally downward and towards the back from the outer edge of the underwire, so they have skinnier bands or J shaped bands in the back that leave my back fat on display and give me "chicken wings" by my armpits. The lady at this boutique shop in the city told me once that any properly fitting band is going to give most people back/armpit fat. I gave her the side eye.

I suppose some of that armpit fat might be breast tissue but any bra that's ever held that in has been either strapless, or gapping in the cups. So I don't know if I'm super wide set and shallow and just barking up the wrong bratree so far or what. But I really want a bra that doesn't give me muffin-back-and-armpit. Not sure if I'm making sense, but is there a strapped bra out there like this?

Completely off topic - but I'm totally bummed the Chantelle C Graphique Circle G demi tee shirt bra has no reviews on here I can't remember what size I tried in that bra but I looooooved it except for very minor quad-boobing on my bigger side. The boutique lady made the comment that if I went up a cup size the wires would be too high and poke my underarm, so I never tried it any bigger. I was hoping someone on here had experience with it.

• Ok, I just found the 2 year old thread about lying slightly tilted towards my size to take the perimeter measurement, and came up with 9.5" - closer (but still bigger) to what I'm actually wearing. I barely have a crease by my armpit & boob unless I have a bra on, then I have the little fat-fold. Maybe it IS tissue? Maybe I do need to go up a size? I donno... anything bigger and I don't fill it out front or at the top... so does that mean they're wide/shallow? I swear I'm losing my mind. Like for example - my too-big Fantasie smoothing strapless 30F. No back fat. No armpit fat. Also, no boob in the apex and upper 1/3 of the bra.

• you should link to all your bras so we can easily look at the pics you are talking about. If you type @fantasie and look, if you are on a pc at least, it should show a list of your fantasie bras, etc.

• It's not going to help. The Cleo Neve Strapless and the Cleo Koko Icon are just made for tall rooted people.

  the b.delight’d by b.tempt'd strapless and the betsey johnson forever perfect strapless were made for short rooted people but they don't go beyond 32E. It is possible that the Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless, any of EM's strapless bras (EM is a moral hazard for me), and the Gossard Superboost Satin Strapless

• That's what I figured. Have you tried that Gossard Superboost? It has a big push-up pad in it, right? I'm worried I'd fall out of it, lol.

• Yeah, once in a while now I mention to someone I've been working on finding 'real' bras that fit, and they ask what size, and I say 32J, and they say "ive never heard of J" - i mean, my friends are pretty polite, but still, it makes me feel like a crazy person because I KNOW they are thinking thats not real

  OTOH, I always try to remember that the up side is that they probably have NOT really noticed that my boobs are each bigger than my head lol

• ...And for some reason it's considered a bad thing to do if one throws stuff at people when they say these kinds of things.

  On a positive note, I am getting closer in getting my aunt turned to the dark side...errr, I mean into her better fitting bra size. I haven't undertaken this alone, but I would be foolish to not utilize the advantage of my mom being her twin and thus having a bit of sway in convincing my aunt about things. She shall be converted by this summer, or I'll have to do something drastic like steal all the bras in her drawer so she has no choice. :)

• To be honest, I was surprised when I started wearing 30B. I have always considered myself to be itty-bitty and the sizing of the past had put me in 32AA.

• Ah, my young bra-trying-risk-taker. Take a deep breath. Exhale. (You wouldn't believe how often I have to remind people they have to continue this breathe in breathe out nonsense!)

  There is nothing wrong with taking a few risks, but there must be a method to the madness or you shall feel like all is for naught and this well fitting bra idea an impossible dream. Do you feel like you are trying to swoop and scoop too much? Does any of what's being swooped and scooped almost immediately decide it does not want to be contained in a bra and makes a break for it? If so, then you may be too aggressive with the swooping and scooping at this stage.

  There's a fine line between spending like the cash is going to be stolen if you don't spend it *right now* on bras that are pretty and you're reasonably certain will probably fit and if not there are people who will buy it off you should it not work out for your boobs, and throwing it into a fire just hoping that maybe somehow a miracle bra will be in the pile you've tried already and weren't thrilled with but for whatever reason you're considering spending your money on when you *could* focus your mind on what precisely made those bras a 'meh' for you.

  Now say 10 Hail Fairy-bra-mothers and you shall be forgiven of these bra sins. :)

• i'm sure it's okay...
  but keep in mind that if it's padded or foam lined that the outside cup will measure bigger than the inside cup.
  so as long as it's unlined/unpadded i see no harm in it.
  but if it has significant amount of padding then i think it might be a good idea to remeasure. :)

• Ha, I posted about this on Facebook last week when the episode aired! I was very impressed to hear a sub-32 band and D+ cup size (heck, a G+ cup size) mentioned on American tv. :)

• Yes!! I'm so glad someone else got as excited as I did lol. I'm hoping this will help me get my similarly sized friend to at least try some better fitting bras now, since she loves the show too.

• conversions are generally UK 8 = US XS, UK 10 = US S, UK 12 = US M, etc. I have heard they are cut a bit differently though; I'm not sure. And most people say Cleo bottoms run roomy in the rear.

• Comexim runs about one size small. So small fits like an XS. I have about 34 inch hips and wear a Comexim small.

• Hey! I own a Just Peachy bra in size 30B and the band fits tight but well. However, I could have definitely gone up a cup size. In most bras I am a 30C or a 28D. So, from my experience I would say that the entire bra runs petite. I've compared the measurements to The Little Bra Company's bras that I own and the band is the same length as a 30C. The cups were also not too far off. And as I'm sure you know, The Little Bra Company is a petite brand. I would recommend only getting a cup size larger if the tight band doesn't bother you.

• I don't know much about CK bras, I only have 1 from their Tease Me collection and it's very wide set and shallow. Same goes for Panache, their regular bras never fit right. I'll look into the other two from Masquerade. Thanks!!
