I'm planning on putting up a fit check for this soon if I can ever get good pictures taken, but does anyone know about "immediate projection"? I read some posts recently that made me realize what I think is wrong with the fit of my Comexim Irish Coffee - the wires are getting pushed down because there's not enough space at the bottom. Does this happen to anyone else with their plunges? Do any of the half cups work better for you?

I'm debating trying a size up for my next attempt, but I already have problems with gaping at the gore after a little bit of wear. Basically the cups look good, even a little small, when I first put it on, but after a while it starts sliding down and gaping. Super frustrating because I thought it was a great fit when I first got it! :(

  • I'd be happy to share my knowledge/experience with immediate projection. Unfortunately, the amount you need and the fudging you can get away with will depend on your size and boob shape.

A lot of people who have very firm or very pendulous boobs find that they need immediate projection. If you don't have enough, the cups/wires will be pushed down, or you'll get a lot of weird wrinkling. Some people claim thay this is an FOB issue, but its not. You can be even or FOT and still need immediate projection. It just depends on what the bottom of your boob wants.

For me, as a 30F/FF who needs immediate projection, I tend to live in unlined freya. I usually size down in shallow molded ups (i wear a 30E deco) because my boobs push the cups out and down. In my regular size, this causes the cup to gape up top. Sizing down (while not the worlds best fit) hides the gaping.

Some styles you may just have to avoid. You can try sizing down in styles that develop a gape due to boob push out, or sizing up in more closed off styles. If the bra is too shallow at the bottom, you can either deal with it, compensate or try a new style.

Not all comexims are shallow at the bottom. I'd recommend looking for side shots of someone in the bra before you buy. Likewise I've found Comexim halfcups to be more projected than freya halfcups, but they're still pretty shallow at the bottom. I'd recommend getting a longline, which still offers band support when the wires float ( another symptom of not enough projection).

  • I get pretty insane orange in a glass in my Comexim ginger (see pics! ) plunge, just because it's so shallow. When I had the geisha for a while it was much better and sat almost immediately under my imf.
