I'm pretty new to the journey of searching for a perfect (or at least properly!) fitting bra, but I am now a woman on a mission! Until a few months ago, I would have sworn I am a 32B (sometimes C) and that the reason bras don't fit me properly is because there is something wrong with me. I have had a really complicated relationship with my small, lifeless breasts ever since I stopped nursing my son 19 years ago.
I have made two frustrating trips to Nordstom's, trying on over a dozen bras and not finding anything that was a good and flattering fit. I recently ordered 3 sizes of Natori True Decadence (30DD, 30DDD, and 30G), because they were really cheap on Amazon. Even more recently, I returned all 3 because that is definitely NOT a good look for very soft breasts. Not to mention they were all too big. (Yay for Amazon Prime!)
I have found myself getting rather obsessed about this bra search. I'm spending inordinate amounts of time researching various bras and brands. In a flurry of desperation over the past couple of days, I just bought five more to try. (I don't have a lot of money, so this was done as budget-friendly as possible).
Tonight I stopped into Burlington Coat Factory, on a whim, as I had seen size 30 bands there in the past. Lo and behold, there was ONE bra in the whole store smaller than 32 and it was 30DD. Exactly what I was looking for. Even though I hate the look and fit of this Parfait by Affinitas on me, I spent $2.98 and brought it home, so I can use it as a reference point and also so I can review it on here. The others were ordered off of ebay and Amazon. I am waiting on a Cleo Lucy 30E, Panache Tango 30DD, and Freya Deco Vibe in 30D and 30DD. (I wanted to try the 28, but they were way too expensive).
I am measuring on here a 30DD-30E. 30:5 - 30.:6 . On abrathatfits I measured 28F/30E, but having tried on so many at this point, I can not see me fitting into an E or F (although I have yet to try a 28...I believe the 30 will generally be a better fit, unless it is a very stretchy band.)
I will add updated and reviews as I go. Can't wait until Wednesday, when 3 of the 4 should arrive! I'm honestly not expecting any perfect fits...just more information that will lead me to my perfect fit.

Good luck! It can definitely be very hit-or-miss at first. You have the right idea in buying a bunch of different styles - it's the best way to see what works for your shape and comfort level.
The reason a 28 F would fit is that its the same cup size as a 30 E. When the band goes down, so does the cup. Its called sister sizing, 28F = 30E. to make sure the band fits, some people find it useful to put on the bra upside down and backwards, so the cups are hanging below behind you - the band should fit firmly on your rib cage and stay up, preferably on the loosest setting.
You also might want to try a fit request. Size isnt all of the story, breasts have different shapes - even old saggy breasts (speaking from experience here!) How wide-set, where there is more or less fullness (top, bottom, sides), etc, all of this will effect what bra fits you the best.
its a bit overwhelming. I actually ended up grateful there were so few bras in my size because there were not so many options to try!
