Since I am now on this bra mission, I decided I also needed to get my mom into properly fitting bras. She's been trying to wear 36DDD for years now and her bras all fit terribly. I measured her and her size estimation (to her shock and initial refusal to believe) is UK 32 GG/H or 34 G/GG (US 32 J/K or
34 I/J). Based on that, I got her a couple styles to try. Wouldn't you know it, the very first one fit her like an absolute dream. It's a 34GG Panache Andorra balconette in powder (pink). The band is a little tight, so we are getting her an extender, but the cups look incredible on her. The gore and straps are just right. I think the band will stretch a little and also think she is so used to her 36s that she often wears days in a row (in bras she has owned for years and doesn't take care of well) that she needs time to adjust to the feeling of a snug band. She is fully supported, with lots of side support and lift, and a lovely rounded front projected shape that, quite frankly, I am feeling rather envious of at the moment! She was shocked and exclaimed how she has never owned a bra that fit her so perfectly! So, that was a total win and I'm pretty psyched I could give her that gift.

Any suggestions for other bras that work well for women that rock the Andorra?

The second one I got her was a fail. It was the Elomi Caitlyn in 34G. Despite the fact that in it's very name are the words "side support", it actually gave her almost no side support. Instead, she had lots of breast tissue that did not make it into the cup, which made the cup actually appear too big, with some wrinkling. It just fit really weird. She also had strange gapping in the back, near where the bands meet straps. The band on the Caitlyn was more comfortable to her, but was possibly actually a little too big. That one is getting returned.

I explained to her the importance of not wearing bras two days in a row and made her promise she would get a second one that fits, soon. I know she is only going to follow through if I stay on her about it and offer suggestions, which is why I am here asking for suggestions. :)

  • Good job with your mom's brafitting! What great luck, too, to have her first try be such a success! Amazon now has the Panache Andorra balconette in 34GG in Cerise, a bright pink, on sale for $29.32, eligible for Prime shipping, here:

    http://www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Andorra-Balconnet-Heather/dp/B00PE6IYTY/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1450160747&sr=1-1&nodeID=7147440011&keywords=andorra&refinements=p_89%3APanache

Figleaves and BareNecessities also have it on sale, but not as low priced. Unfortunately at the moment no one on ebay.com seems to have it in 34GG. There's only one available on ebay.co.uk, and it's equivalent to the full retail price.

Good luck, and kudos to you for bothering to bravangelize your mother, despite the resistance.

  • Panache Clara supposedly fits similar to Andorra! I own one and it's beautiful, forgiving and stretchy.

For me, Andorra didn't work (cup buckling, armpit terror) while Clara does fit (seems slightly lower under the arms?)

    Good luck :)
