Size Conversions?

When I was getting ready to go Polish, I read that the band conversions were generally considered to go: 50= 24 band, 55= 26, 60= 28, 65= 30 and so on. But I've been ordering 65 bands and at least half of them barely stretch to 70 cm, which is roughly 27.5 inches. That sounds like a 28 band, to me.

So when you notice that your band stretches to a different size than what your conversion dictates, do you judge the size of the cups based on your original conversion (Comexim 65K = 30GG/H, for example) or on the actual measurements of the bra (65K that stretches to 27.5"= 28H/HH, I think)?

I'm not sure how coherent this question is, so let me know if I need to clarify what I'm asking!

  • If you want to look for fit, go by measurements (but be mindful of the cut - Plunge vs full cup). The canonical conversions are only referential but at the end stretch/material/fit is what will make the difference. That's why they say that it "runs short on the band" (coming from a different brand experience as a base line).

If you want to tell other people about one bra, call them by what they are labeled, that will cause less confusion (they know what you bought and decide from there). It is almost a wide agreement that EU 65== UK 30 and so on. (although brands are still free to tag their bras whatever they please - ahem Ampere )

Don't call a 65 a 28 for Comexim , but say that a 65 fits like a 28 in whichever brand you're used to. Simplifying paradigms drags error.

Polish manufacturers (just like other manufacturers) are independent, so the rule that you follow in one polish will not work for another polish. Better to think as a brand change than group by region.

  • I think also it seems Polish brands these days are trying to make their bands fit more like their UK size equivalents. Older EMs do seem to run a band size small and 75 fits me perfect, but the new models 70 seems to stretch right to 32 or .5 to 1 inch tight, which is no more difference than Panache usually has on their 32 bands.

Also despite hearing people say Comexim bands are a size tight, the 75s I ordered last time fit quite like 34s and were slightly too large for me. It sometimes seems like sub-34 bands run tight, then 34+ band runs TTS, which is frustrating to me as a person right at that 32 mark..
