Out of the "box" extenders

So....I recently received a generous supply of bras from Scharminkeltje :); two of which needed extenders (I will be posting these bras in a few days). I soon discovered I had a problem; I couldn't find extenders to go with either one. One has a single hook band, and the other has a three hook band with the hooks about 1/2" apart. I searched and searched and couldn't find an extender for either one.

So, I was thinking about the problem one night waiting to fall asleep, and I came up with this; a single hook and loop extender made of velcro, with a hook on one side, and a loop on the other. This makes an infinitely variable extender, and I can use any number of these to accommodate any number of hooks and eyes on a strap, no matter the vertical distance between hook and eye sets. I have made three so far.

The only problem with them is they can be more difficult to hook behind your back. It is much easier to hook them if you hook in front and spin the bra around (gently). I find, the older I get, the more and more trouble I have getting my arms up to hook from behind anyway. I find, if I hook my bra and spin it around my waist, It spins a lot easier, with less resistance.

The infinite variability might help those of you that find it useful to have the top of the strap looser than the bottom, like Laurizle :)

One thing I WILL change about the ones I make in the future; on these, I used velcro with an adhesive backing; NOT necessary, and a sticky pain in the back the first time I tried them!!!

Oh, yeah; I forgot to mention; I used 1" wide velcro strips and cut them in half, lengthwise. This gives me a 1/2" wide strip that works well close together connecting more than one set of hooks and eyes.
