Underbust/band size measurement...

A few months after starting to wear better fitting bras, my underbust measurement lost an inch. I was just measuring myself again as a 6-month checkup on my bra situation and I think I know where that inch went!

My old bras were so huge in the band that I kept tightening the shoulder straps in order to get security and support. (lol) I wore the back of the old bras very high. That's where I thought the bra should go, so that's where I measured! Then when my new bras sat lower in the back, I measured there, which on me is a smaller measurement because it's not angled upward.

I didn't have any changes in my body, I just measured differently without realizing it.

For my most recent measurement, I used a mirror and played around with measuring at different angles. Well, it all makes sense now!

  • It is amazing what a few degrees of tilt do! Pretty much thing happened to me glad you got it figured out!

  • Someone told me; the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. 😊

Is there a good rule of thumb for where a strap should be on your back to provide the best support up front? I find mine usually ride somewhere around the bottom of my shoulder blades. Is it just a matter of being a straight, or level, line at the bottom of your IMF?
