What does the cut of a bra do?
Ok, this might be like the strangest thing to ask, but all information I've had on bra cuts before came from this post by Boobius Maximus. And it seems the pictures doesn't work anymore?
Anyhow. After the debates about Andorra Full Cup in my last bra adventure t_maia taught me about steep-cut bottoms and I found a new fitting clue.
So today I've looked at all the cuts of my bras. And suddenly it dawned upon me there's this horizontal seam on Andorra that is almost straight going straight across all the way around the bra. I compared it to Ariza Balconnet Bra and then I have no idea how I got into it but when I figured they both actually does allow bottom volume rather than top volume (or rather one needs to size up) I started looking at cut of Elomi bras as well and then it turned out they were the same I suddenly saw a profile on a girl in a 34H Caitlyn Underwire Side Support and really we looked extremely similar.
So what I now wonder is: Does different cuts do different things? I mean could I learn from just looking on a cut of a bra if it would fit me or not? And are cups with this kind of straight horizontal seam more flat than others?
Harmony Full Cup Underwire Belle Full Cup - Larger Sizes Kara Underwired Full Cup Bra Rita and a lot of other fullcups has it. Is that the typical "fullcup" seam? And are fullcups the typically flattening bras?
Because to me it seams almost all balconettes has a horizontal seam that is halfway vertical. Like for example Jasmine Princess 36G - Freya ยป Eden Balconette Bikini - D-g (3192) Well practically almost all balconettes but Ariza. Help?
Baby Steps: Bra Terminology and Styles
Before we get into the real meat of the endeavor here (finding you a bra that fits and makes you look and feel fabulous, no compromises!) first we have to take a few baby steps. There is so much misinformation ...

Not sure if this is answering your question or not, but here you go:

I am not sure which seams you are talking about. For a basic intro into differnt bra cuts, check out

Ariza and Tango are A-cuts. Most Freya and Curvy Kate bras are H-cuts, ditto for Cleo Marcie and Co.
Fantasie Belle Fullcup and Fantasie Kara Fullcup are both E-cuts.
Panache Andorra is a novelty cut, it is A-cut with an internal side support sling.
Most Elomi bras and the Panache Jasmine are 4-part cup novelty cuts. They essentially have the B-cut with an additional vertical seam like the A- and H-cuts.
Cleo Juna is a D-cut.
