Adventures in mall shopping

I was at the mall earlier, and just for fun, I swung by the bra department in Dillards. I may have squealed a bit when I saw a sign for Chantelle (they also carry Le Mystere, Natori and Wacoal, which was all news to me but maybe not to some here -- only up to UKFF/USH, I think), and promptly began digging around for any 32FFs. A sales woman came scurrying up to help and asked what size I was looking for. 32FF, I said. Her response? "I don't know what that means." I explained, as patiently as I could, that it was a US 32H, but I was used to using the UK size. She balked at the idea that 32FF was the more common way to refer to that size, even as she dug around in the Chantelles for that size. I did end up buying a Wacoal La Femme Contour (853117) but I'm still a bit baffled by the whole experience. How do you work amongst bras labeled with those sizes and not know that the sizes exist?

  • On the upside at least she did help you. Training and customer service seem to be becoming a foreign concept here in the states. Sounds like you did some of the training for her. ;)
