How hard is it for a seamstress to make the center gore narrower, resewing it into the cups instead of making a fold of extra fabric? For an example, see 30E - Simone Perele ยป Inspiration 3 Way Memory Foam Bra (12W361

  • Note: I am not a seamstress, so this is conjecture. I would think it would be a little more time consuming, and maybe more difficult. You may have to remove the wires to resew into the cup, depending on the amount you want to narrow it. I know I saw an article/blog/post about doing exactly that; I'll keep looking and get back to you.

  • To do it correctly requires a lot of deconstruction, and if the bra has elastic that travels over the gore without a seam, that is another added complication that to do seamlessly involves removing the entire elastic strip from one end to a little past the gore and then sewing it back down shorter. If there is no elastic over the gore, you still have to remove the channel past the length of the gore and in most cases remove the wire entirely. Given how tightly stitched the channel tends to be at the top inner edge of the cup, I personally don't find it worth the effort, and I have a small enough distance between my breasts to deeply wish it was. Instead I have started looking into getting the materials to just make myself a perfect bra, but that may turn into just as much of a challenge since I prefer t-shirt bras, which generally involve injection molding.
