Matrix thoughts

I went to a small all-ladies party at a high-school friend's house last week. There were six of us girls all in our 40s. I was the last one arriving and from the conversation I picked up that an acquaintance of mine, a plastic surgeon, just left before my arrival. Him being a renowned boob-doctor brought in the topic I am so at-home about: breasts and bras. Apparently the good doctor offered a breast augmentation to one of my friends who said she'd much rather wear gel padded bras. And then total disappointment hit me when my friends started saying things like: "I usually wear a 75, but this time needed a larger cup so went for an 80." It was obvious that when they need a larger cup they go for a larger band. I tried to explain how bra sizing and sister sizing works, but soon realised that there was absolutely no-one interested to learn anything. Everyone there, apart from me was of a matrix size from 34A to 36B and downright ignorant about the bra-world. I gave up bravangelising very soon when I saw the general disinterest, possibly because they can buy bras at every street corner and don't want to know their size. Walk in, try on, pay, walk out. Done.
So there I was outnumbered and totally uninspired to spread the Bra God's word...

  • I find it disheartening also when people don't listen to me, because I think they'd really enjoy a better fitting bra... I feel like I get treated like a conspiracy theorist sometimes by people who have only known +4 all their lives, cuz if it's what all the stores do it can't be wrong right? /s

  • sigh
