Comexim Alteration Question

So after a year I have finally come to the sad realization that regardless of size (I've tried numerous variations of band & cup for science), Comexim plunges are just a shape mismatch for me. Mostly too shallow at the bottom or if they work there too big everywhere else. It's not just Comexim, its other brand's plunges, too. About the only plunge-type cut that works is the Fantasie/Fauve 'balcony plunge' which isn't really a plunge anyway. Balconies are my go-to for fit & comfort, while half cups with enough immediate projection work for me too. I am narrow & short rooted (effectively FOB), close set but with crazy immediate projection. I got my first 3-part Comexim half-cups last week and they fit - yay!!! Because I really, really like the company and their bras. Which leads to my question...I lust after the Comexim Pearl Flower Mint, which is a plunge. I know I could try asking them to make it in a half-cup, but I would really prefer a balcony (EM S cut is perfection so I'm sort of trying to duplicate that). What custom alterations should I ask Comexim for to turn it effectively into a balcony? Should I size up at the same time? Am I dreaming that this could happen? Thanks everyone!

  • I ordered two bras from Comexim and I got the cup height reduced (from looking into it, it seems like the bulk of the height reduction is on the outsides of the cup near the straps) and I had the gore raised. I also went up a cup size when I reduced the cup height as this is what I have heard works best. They haven't arrived yet so I can't tell you how well it worked out, but it seems like those two alterations could help give it more of a balcony bra shape, though they probably wouldn't help the immediate profection issue. They should be arriving soon, though odds are they'll arrive while I'm home for spring break so I won't be able to try them until i get back to school. But if you haven't bought anything by then I can give you my input on them when they arrive

  • I think it would be worth your while to email Jaimie at BraObsessed (bras@braobsessed.com) and ask for her advice. She's super kind, responsive to email, and really helpful. She sells (and wears!) both EM and Comexim bras, too, so her knowledge about fit on both is excellent. I hope she can help!
