Male shop assistant working in a Women's lingerie store - would you be deterred from shopping?

Would you be deterred from shopping or browsing in a women's lingerie store if the only shop assistant was a male?

I'm hoping to expand my online only bra store by opening a small shop in the biggest/busiest fashion mall in our city and can't afford to hire a female shop assistant for the first 2 months.

Neighbouring stores would include stores like Nordstrom, H&M and Zara. I sell mainstream everyday bras in harder to find sizes.
Ideally I'd like to hire a female shop assistant however I can't afford this for the first 2 months or so.
Although I'll be doing my very best not to deter customers, I'm worried some women would unfortunately be put off by this. I have strong bra knowledge from the online store.

I wouldn't do fittings of course, however I would have change rooms so customers can try on and offer fittings by appointment one day per week with a trained bra fitter.
(I am regular looking, 30yo, and well dressed in case its relevant.)

  • I would not be deterred, but some of my dearest friends are transgender. So, I may be more open and tolerant than average.

  • As a young adult, I wouldn't be bothered in the least. Young people tend to be more open minded. I feel that you may run in to issues with older women or with parents bringing in their teenage daughters to find ABTF. If you build up your clientele and word gets around that you offer a nice selection and excellent advice, that might override any misconceptions they have - and give you time to hire a female assistant to put them more at ease.
