Ladies of NJ (and thereabouts)--I know there's that list of stores and what methods they use to measure/what sizes they sell, but it's pretty YMMV, in my experience. I've had my own issues with stores but I am trying to bravangelize to one of my friends and take her somewhere where they will be nice. She was complaining about pushup bras pushing her too up and generally feeling oafy and waistless in non pushup bras. I told her about my 'British bras' being in a bigger range of sizes available in non-push up, but not old lady styles.

She's middley sized (like a 12/14 and athletically built/tallish) and fairly busty but not super busty(she thinks she's an C cup, which she is just so not), so I figure most stores will have her range? Any ideas on where would be friendly, actually measure her and not +4 her to death? Perhaps with a selection of non-pushup, 'purple shape' bras (Panache?).

Nordstroms put her in a C instead of an A and I know at least the Menlo location can be limited depending on sales. Definitely not Susans, because it will overwhelm her. Location in NJ is not an issue otherwise, and since she is a friendly, soccer mom looking lady, she shouldn't have the issues I have had with the fancy stores. :D

  • I had a positive experience at Johari in Montclair. They didn't have a huge selection in my size (~30E), but they do carry a good selection of brands and sizes, the store is clean and decently sized, staff was friendly/not at all pushy, and they seem to do accurate fittings.
