Swimsuits...a never ending story

I am looking at swimsuits again. Last year I tried the 36K - Panache Swimwear » Veronica Swimsuit (SW0640) which was a huge failure. I really would want to go swimming this summer but If I don't have a good swimsuit I feel comfortable and secure in, I cannot do it. I'm very insecure about my body anyway.

Bravissimo sells a few that go up to K-cup. The Speedo Premiere Ultimate Gold Sports Swimsuit (SO102) and other colors of this model have bad reviews though. I won't try Panache Paloma as I think it will be similar to the Veronica. The other Bravissimo ones have too thin straps for my taste and don't look supportive. (Why these super thin straps on Swimsuits in bigger sizes?!) I also fear that a swimsuit in my band size (34/36) will be too short /small in the body as I have a long torso and big bottom.

Then I had an Idea! I could get an Elomi Tankini top they are not bra sized but they look very nice with thick straps. I could just wear an old bra underneath.

The Elomi Tankini suits are actually made to be worn with an Elomi Bikini top underneath. I'd wear one of those but they stop at H-cups sadly. Do you think my idea could work? I never wore a regular bra to swimming so I don't know what will happen. I'd use an old Alana probably. Has anyone tried that? It's somewhat my last hope...
Any other advice what I could try?

  • Just wearing your prettiest sports bra is always an option!

  • I have never tried to wear a regular bra swimming but do know that swim elastic is different than regular elastic so it can hold up to the chemicals in pools . Not all swim suits use better elastic of course we have all probably had the ones that fall apart after one season or get baggy when wet . But most better brands now days typically you see the baggy in children swim ..sorry rambling . I am trying to say maybe the bra elastic might not hold up in the pool chemicals mostly in the back band maybe you can reinforce with some swim elastic
or do what I am thinking about taking out the wires of my old bra and swapping with a swim suit wires that are too small I see unwired suit in the shops and they look like they should give good coverage ,support after some surgery . Personally I have no idea if that will work .
The tankini idea is a good one ..I am a bit body insecure too . That one might look a bit maternity with the tummy rushing or it might hide stuff one never knows . I definitely want to swim this year too without my breast escaping and they float trying to break free . Always trying for their freedom !
I didn't even know that bra size suits existed until a month ago and batabase lol can you believe that ?
