Taffeta Bra Gone but not forgotten.

Taffeta (/ˈtæfᵻtə/; archaically spelled taffety) is a crisp, smooth, plain woven fabric made from silk or cuprammonium rayons. The word is Persian in origin and means "twisted woven." It is considered to be a "high-end" fabric, suitable for use in ball gowns, wedding dresses, and interiors for curtains or wallcovering.

I once had a bra made in Taffeta it was black and I really loved this bra but I seemed to grow out of it very quickly and have never seen another one, I know I have no chance to find another in my size.

  • Weren't vintage bras often made of taffeta? I remember some of my moms bras seemed to be that fabric. Geez I'm really aging myself....

  • Yes your right I have seen old films of Betty Page wearing what looks to be Taffeta.
