2 Comexim questions!

I would appreciate if anyone can shed whatever light they have on these questions!

1. I fit well in (65J) three part halfcups completely unaltered, but I am considering ordering some with the straps moved in (I would love them to not touch my armpits if I hold my arms forward!). Is 2 cm moved in sufficient for this in your experience? Also, does this sole alteration significantly change the fit of the bra in any other way? What about 4 cm moved in (I think I've heard of someone doing this?)? Is this better? How would this change the fit of the bra?

2. Have there been improvements made to the longline structure over the past year? I bought the Joy longline last year, and was disappointed that the wires floated. Other people reported the same thing. Is this still happening?

Thank you!

  • I moved the straps on one of my Comexim: I found it shallowed the bra immediately below the strap attachment point. If you move it inward, it may allow a bit more projection at the gore. I've not yet owned an unaltered 3HC.....

  • I can't help with the longline question, as I've been hesitant to buy them due to their reputation for projection issues/floating wires.

But as for having the straps moved in, I think how much you'll need them moved in depends on your frame width. Going by the Bratabase method of basically measuring from armpit to armpit across the top of the shoulders, my frame is about 10.75" wide. EVERYTHING falls off my shoulders: shirts, jackets, tank top straps, purses, backpacks, scarves.

Anna Pardal bras are made by Comexim, and most of their cuts have the straps moved in 2 cm in my size range. When I mentioned to Anna that I still felt like the straps were a touch wide for me, she moved the straps in 3.5 cm on my next two orders.

For me, it made a huge difference. It seems to lend to more projection near the gore, which I need because I am a little too centerfull otherwise. It also makes me less conscious of the straps. When they were moved in 2 cm, they stayed on but still felt like they might slip off. Not so when they're moved in 3.5 cm.

I also find that it seems to improve the lift for me, but that could just be my bias talking.
