Long but firm breasts? | Thinking caps needed, please!

Does anyone have experience with having this sort of shape? I'm trying to figure it out for my sister, round 2 of bra shopping for her. She's petite, narrow shouldered, with firm breast tissue, but also long, tubular breasts. She has a hard time filling full cup bras. She doesn't have much upper fullness, but she's not FOB either.

I'm thinking halfcups or balconettes for her. What say you?

  • halfcups don't really provide enough coverage for "difficult" shapes. more full coverage balconettes or fullcups will actually do better, even though yeah, she may not fill out the top. off the top of my head Wacoal basic beauty is very good for petites and for this shape. it's kind of an ugly bra though.

  • Sounds like she has short roots. Cleo Marcie seems to work okay for short roots and will give you an idea of the width of her root.

I'd suggest avoiding Freya half-cups. They'll be too shallow for her long (I'm guessing you are describing projected) breasts. Freya half-cups are also pretty tall, in my experience, so it's likely her short roots will swim in them.

Curvy Kate Bardot and Madagascar are both supposed to be good for short roots. I found them too wide, but your sister may have better luck if her roots are in the average to wide range.

So far the only half cups that have worked for me are Polish ones and Cleo Alexa (which I took one size down). As far as balconettes, only Marcie and Polish ones have worked out for me.

Bear in mind my roots are narrow as well as short, so if her roots are wider she'll have more options.
