Misleading or what?

I received a 20% discount code from Les p'tits Caprices (France) TWICE in the last week. Whenever I tried to validate my code, I got an error message. So, finally I called them today and I was told, this was only available for client residing in Belgium and France.
Me:"That is just dandy, but then why did you send this code to me to Croatia?"
Man on the phone:"Oh we apologise."
Me: " You know this is VERY not OK to advertise something you can't deliver!"
Man on the phone: " Oh, we apologise."
I am kinda furious! &/()$#_:;%&/($!!!
Why oh why are my bras sent to Korea and lost forever by the French post and why oh why do I run into these stupid situations? I just want to scream now!!!!
PS. Nowhere in their e-mail do they indicate that this is a country restricted discount.
Update: I just received another automated e-mail with the defunct code reminding me that I only have a few more hours left to complete my purchase. What is left to say?

  • My brain automatically jumps to, they were probably trying to entice customers to shop with them, then hopefully they will want the product so badly that they'll buy with or without the coupon. xD

    Similar to stores in the US (have never traveled elsewhere); they'll put out gigantic "sale" signs with teensy tiny asterisks and tiny writing that says something like "only on such and such products". The idea I believe is to get you to walk in, see something you like under the impression that you're getting a sale price, and hopefully like it enough to buy regular price when you're confronted at the register. I assume. Lol

    In any case, since there are no mentions of country restrictions they should still give it to you. That's a shame that they won't. :/

  • I am more inclined to beleive that there are very few clients of theirs who are not in France and the sellers are just not in tune with what they are offering to whom. I was trying to tell them that now they should keep their promise, ie the 20% discount they sent to my e-mail address, but no, all I got was apologies. What a shame.
