Center Gore Keeps Breaking??

Hi, everybody! In the past I have had a bra come apart down the middle, and I thought maybe it was because it was older, well worn, etc. However, I recently got a new bra (Cleo's Koko Muse) and the inside mesh of the center gore has ripped! I admit, I have worn it a lot recently because it is amaaazinngg (maybe 10 hours a day for five days, not in a row), but I've only had it three weeks, and I haven't worn it THAT much. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this? Thanks in advance!
Also this is my first post here, so hello!

  • are you wearing your band too tight? so its putting too much strain on it? that does sound awful. I mean, Cleos are not the best quality - i have a year and a bit old Marcie which had awful in-cup quad, but has stretched out so much it still fits me after I gained a cup size lol

  • I also wonder if your band is too tight. I've never had a bra do that, and I've had lots of Cleos as well (and a couple of them are VERY worn yet still have no sign of ripping). I don't think this is a "Cleo quality" issue since this is not a common problem (I don't think I've ever heard of this happening to anyone, come to think of it!) A too-tight band is the only thing I can think that would cause that center area to rip apart like that, especially on two completely different models.

Think about if you stretch a rubber band. You can only stretch it so far before it snaps in half. Your bra band is made of elastics as well. If it is being pulled beyond its point of elasticity, something is going to have to break to release the tension. Your gore is likely the weakest point since it is a very small piece of fabric in the center of your bra, so it breaks rather than your band, which is made of larger, stronger pieces of fabric.

Yes, your band needs to be snug in order to give you support, but not so tight that it compromises the function of the bra.
