When I first found a bra that fits, I was visiting my mom and showed her my bra and asked if she thought it fit. She said it did and that it looked very cute, and so I told her it was a 32FF. I then excitedly told her all about properly fitted bras and using the calculator from r/abrathatfits to find the right size and all the life changing info I had learned. I get my bustiness from my mom, and she has also recently had them lifted and then got implants because lifting them made them smaller than she wanted. So I thought this would be eye opening for her.
Well I guess she just brushed it off as me being crazy and went to VS the next day, got fitted as a 36DD (and they obviously know best because they care more about getting your true fit and not trying to sell their limited stock right?) and spent a whole bunch on bras in that size.
So today, weeks later, her husband jokingly brought it up because I guess they were teasing me and my ridiculous bra theory. My mom starts talking about how Chinese sizing is different than us sizing. I tried telling her that it's uk/us sizing and Chinese has nothing to do with it. "Oh well how can VS, who makes billions of dollars, be wrong? They told me I'm a 36DD and they fit me" so I tried telling her that the volume might be right but the band is way too loose. I even showed her that I can easily fit my balled fist under the back of her bra strap and the only reason her boobs aren't sagging in that bra is because it's a 5 month old boob job and they will be perky no matter what.
We changed the subject but when I got her home I sent her several links and pictures and screenshots trying to explain sister sizes and how my 32FF is the same cup size as a 38DD and the only difference is the band size. She kept telling me that makes no sense and finally I sent one more picture and I was just like you're getting too hung up on the letters, look up sister sizes for yourself, it just is that way, I didn't invent bra sizes and telling me I'm wrong won't change the facts. So she finally said that it does make sense.
If she wants to wear the wrong size after I told her how to find her true size that's one thing, but to tease me behind my back and mock me to my face because the truth sounds different to her really upset me. I was really excited to finally find why I could never find a bra that fit right and I wanted to share that with her, and she just assumed I was dumb and laughed about it behind my back with her husband and who knows who else.

Not about bras, but i've had family members tease me because they didnt want to know the truth. it hurts but you cant change them
Some people prefer ignorance. :-( :-(
