Removing wires to make a lounge bra

Has anyone ever removed the wires in a regular balconette bra to make a lounge bra? I have an old bra that I'm considering doing this to, but I wanted to find out how it might turn out from anyone else who has done it. If the result is not worth it, then I don't want to bother cutting it so I can pass it on to someone else.

*Note: I'm not looking for any recommendations for lounge bras -- I've tried lots and have a perfectly wonderful Decent Exposures bra to wear around the house. I am just looking for a way to make an old bra more useful to me.

  • I took a wire out of one of my bras (gorgeous bra) and replaced it with a plastic wire (obv not the same as what you're asking), but it turned the bra essentially into a wireless fit. The wire channels looked stretched. I think taking the wire out would essentially be the same.

  • oh, i'm glad the decent exposures worked out for you - last I remember you said you had some issues with it
