Mammogram & Bravangelizing

I had my annual mammogram yesterday, and I was thinking before I went wow - what a great opportunity to bravangelize on a 'commercial' scale, and also what a great opportunity to ask a professional about my mysterious roots! (I posted here a while back on my frustration with not being able to find them, and got tons of helpful help but remain mystified - but I digress!). I chatted up the really nice, mature woman doing my mammo and she wasn't even vaguely interested in talking about '80% of women are in the wrong size bra', etc. I asked if she saw marks of ill-fitting bras (like those gouges on the shoulders) and/or issues with scans that could be caused by excessive compression or whatever. Again, no engagement. I wrote that all off to professional detachment and job requirements - they have an important medical job to do, and can't get personal. So I then asked if she could tell me where my roots were at the top, and she had never heard the term and was curious. A breakthrough! I showed her what little I know & there we were, exchanging information from our relative knowledge bases, as I did a hand bra and she pointed out my tail of spence (except she called it something clinical sounding). I asked if she could tell me if I had inner fullness, and that was also an unknown for her....more hand bra and leaning over and all that fun stuff ensued. At the end I gave her the ABTF website and this one and she gave me a name for a local small shop that still fits bras the old-fashioned way and even does custom work. So what I learned (in this highly unscientific and statistically insignificant sample) is that there is a gap between the medical and bra-fitting worlds, and that bravangelizing works better one person at a time :)
