Comexim Swimsuit Question!

Ok, so, I'm needing (DESPERATELY) a new swimsuit, and I'm about to embark on a Comexim-ordering adventure. (I should've done this ages ago, since it's already crazy hot and now I will have to wait for at least a month before I get into a decent-fitting suit!) I've been reading a little bit about some of the swim tops they have, but before I make the plunge, (pun not intended) what is the difference between the half cup style and the balcony style cups? Does one style work best for a particular shape? I'm not sure which one would work best for me.
My regular Comexim size is 80HH, but I've found that the fabric rubs my armpits a bit, so I think I need to request reduced cups. (Also, what EXACTLY does that entail, as well?) I always ask for raised gore, because I feel more supported that way, and narrowed straps. (Which I just learned, the standard is 2 cm, so I need to request something along the lines of 4-5 cm) I honestly don't know what "kind" of boobs I have, other than they are pretty FOB, and my shoulders are quite narrow, so I need wires that can accommodate that. (Thus, Comexim is my go-to brand.)
Thanks, in advance, for your help!

  • I believe that the balcony bras are unlined. Comexim's swimwear is either in a plunge cut or a 3HC cut depending on the model (though you can order any model in either a plunge or 3HC regardless of what the standard cut for that model is. Maybe you can order swimwear in a 2HC as well, though I haven't tried it).

The 2HC and 3HC are both halfcups. The top of the cup is kind of like a shallow U (its much more straight across than the plunge cut). The 3HC has more projection than the 2HC, both immediate and overall and the 2HC is generally regarded as pretty shallow.

The plunge cut is taller at the outside of the cup than the halfcups and lower at the gore. The overall shape of the two cups is kind of like a V rather than a straight line.

If it's helpful, I did a review of my Comexim Pin Up girl bikini here: https://bratoday.wordpress.com/2016/05/23/comexim-swimwear-pin-up-girl/ I tried to be pretty thorough with the pictures on it.

I ordered it with a reduced cup height (but just a warning, I didn't clear that with them before hand and whether or not they'll actually reduce the cup height on their halfcups is kinda iffy), and I also had the straps moved in the standard 2cm. Also another note, the material for this one is super stretchy but I've heard that that isn't an issue for most of their other models

  • Here's a review from the An Enhanced Experience blog with a couple of Comexim bikinis. https://anenhancedexperience.wordpress.com/2016/05/25/bra-obsesseds-exclusive-summer-2016-comexim-bikinis-harbour-and-port/

These bikinis were ordered from Bra Obsessed (https://braobsessed.com/), and you'll see a few additional alterations that Jaimie has made available to her customers -- taller bottoms, fully lined bottoms (double layer of fabric), double layer of fabric on the bikini band (to make band more firm), and reinforced straps to prevent lack of support/stretchiness.

I believe Jaimie has told me in the past that she can even request bikini bottoms to be made more wide than tall (so lower rise with more butt coverage, I think?)
