Building a Bra Wardrobe

Yesterday I popped by Last Chance (Nordstrom's clearance center, basically) and while I didn't strike Bra Gold this time around, I did score a Fantasie Montreal Twist Front Tankini (5433) for only $5. I also managed to pick up a couple of Freya and Fantasie briefs, and a Cleo Darcy thong to match the 30G - Cleo » Darcy Padded Balconette (6821) that doesn't fit me, but who cares, these underwear were $2 a piece! So even though I came home with a pile of drawers, my wallet did not feel the pinch. I love a good bargain! But it got me thinking about my burgeoning bra wardrobe. Which bras do I wear the most often? What am I wearing them with? What am I still missing from my assortment of bras?

Mostly what I am missing is a decent strapless bra. I've tried on two in the last couple of months, one was a Chantelle whose name escapes me and another was a Fantasie Smoothing Seamless Strapless (4530). Both did horrible things to the sides of my boobs. It's like points of the cups came up way too high on my chest and started heading for armpit territory. And because both models were too small, they DUG IN around that area creating bizarre armpit boob loafs. But I digress.

The bras I find myself wearing the most often, in no discerning order!

• The Cleo Natasha Balconnet (6841) is my go-to bra when I want something unpadded, and my neckline isn't too low. This and my Cleo Meg Balconnet (6751) or my Cleo Zia Balconnet (6851) I use pretty interchangeably. I find their cuts similar and I love the shape they give underneath clothing.
• The Freya Taylor (4971) and more recently, my Freya Deco Honey (1254) in vivid purple, I wear for when my outfit calls for a plunge bra. I'll wear the my nude Deco under lighter clothing.
• My Ewa Michalak S Wiśniówka, for when I want a plunge-like bra, but without the molded cups. A good everyday bra for under work clothing, basically.

Two recent additions that are sure to be added to the "most worn" list: my Comexim Basic for everyday use under light clothing and my Kris Line Jasmine Soft Cup for when I want my boobs to feel pretty, oh so pretty in violet.

What are your favorite bras you find yourself wearing almost every day?

  • Mostly I wear my Gina Tricot Fina T-shirt Bra (44981) and my 85C - Kappahl » (397802). Ha, who am I kidding? :P Those are the only bras I'm wearing :P I have 85C - Kappahl » (425090) too and I intend to wear it, but I've begun to alter the band, but unfortunately I haven't finished it yet :P (my mom's helping me)

The Gina Tricot one isn't altered yet, and so isn't the other Kappahl bra I mentioned I'm wearing, so the fit is awful. The cups are quite good though because I bought them only thinking of the cup size as I prefer to try on bras before buying them. I'm gonna alter them whenever I get the time (school's really keeping me busy!). My favorite of them all is the white one, the 425090. It has 3 hooks in the back and the band is super smooth and comfy (I can tell although it's too big), the straps are comfortably wide but not overwhelming. I also love that it's so innocent and cute. It covers a bit more of your chest too which is great for those days when you just want to feel held in and ultra-secure :P

  • I'll have to look at nordstrom next time I'm buy one for underwear that is a deal that you can't pass up. Do you know if they carry any 28's
