Small Step Toward Bravangelism

I went shopping with a friend today and we ended up at Nordstrom Rack. I had already made some comments about not needing to spend more money since I just spent a lot on Polish bras, of course she was kind of confused. I briefly said they give a better fit than a lot of other brands. When we got into Nordstrom Rack I was able to convince her to try on a 30C and 30D (she probably is smaller than a 30 band but didn't measure so not sure), she's been wearing 32A or 32B. It also helped that they had Betsey Johnson and she loves Betsey Johnson anything.

She actually tried the bras on. She said the cups on the 30C fit, but the band was too tight (either the band ran tight, or she just isn't used to a snug band), and the 30D was too big in band and cup. While she didn't make a purchase, she at least has a bit of an understanding of how bra sizing works now. When I first chose those sizes she looked at me like I was nuts because of the letter. She went over to look at 32A/B and realized the cups were pretty similar.

I think the main issue is that the bras weren't pushup or super padded, and she likes a lot of padding. She did like the idea of wearing a 30C just because she could say she's a C cup. I told her to look online to see what she could find, not sure if she will follow though, but I feel like it's a mini success to at least get someone to understand the concept of proper fit. If anyone knows of some padded bras around 30C that are let me know, I think she would try if she found something with padding.

On another note they had quite a few 30 bands in stock on this trip, including smaller cup sizes, good for this trip since that's what my friend needed, I think there was even a 30D Freya. I found a couple Freyas for myself to try, but the one that had the best chance of working the gore was just too wide for me, was hoping to find a cheap unlined bra so I have more than one until my new Comexim's get here in a month.

  • Good for you! I just hopefully convinced one of the girls who helps at my conventions to try a new size. She is easily a 30E/F and when I told her she was all no way that is impossible. Of course she is trying to fit into a 34 off the rack which is so huge on her in the band she has zero support.

  • i had a similar success with a friend. she altered her 32A or whatever down to a 30 band once (she measured a 28D), and then just kept wearing the 32's because theyre cuter/cheaper, even though she liked being a D and actually had cleavage in the correct size.. I suppose theres not a whole lot of motivation if you arent having any shape/comfort issues.
