Shape preferences

Last week when I wanted to take pictures of a new top, I realized just how wide my boobs looked in the picture. (I knew they look somewhat wide, since I have a wide to medium wide root and don't like too projected pointy bras ) But it shocked me how much they were outside of the contour of my body. I really disliked how I looked. I wanted to return the top and had a hard time to find something to wear that day. At first I thought I had just a bad body image day and it was all in my mind. I was wearing an Elomi bra, the 38JJ - Elomi » Tatiana Banded Bra (4140) that day.
I know Elomi bras tend to give a wider shape, but they are so comfortable, so I just tried to ignore it.

But then a few days later I tried on the same top with my 34L - Bravissimo » Urban Rose (LN260) bra and it looked so much better! I much prefer the moderately projected rounded front and center shape. It is not super duper projected like some Cleo or Panache Jasmine probably would be, but still a lot more front and center. I felt so much less insecure about my boobs and didn't feel like they stick out too much and "overpower" my outfit. I also kept the top then. Just won't wear it with an Elomi bra :P
I just want to add, that shapes are preferences and that a wide shape is not bad, I just feel more comfortable with the less wide shape. There are probably dresses where the more minimized Elomi shape (minimized projection) is better suited.

I added a picture on my comparison of the two bras: http://www.bratabase.com/compare/dlgxp/

  • Thanks for your photos!! This effortlessly explains the shape difference.

  • Interesting! I think you are rocking it in both but I can totally understand the less wide preference. I say do what makes you feel the best :)
