Bra shopping
After my not so good experience trying to buy bras on sale at department stores, I went back to the local bra boutique today. I have to say that while I do love bargain shopping online, it is so nice to go to the boutique, where they have excellent fitters and wide range of bras from A-KK. When I was in the waiting room after shopping, I heard that they typically carry about 17,000 bras. That is a crazy amount of bras!
There's something nice about being there and having the time to just try on twenty different bras and have the fitters there to help you get the bras on or check the fit, and to be able to just sit there while they run around and find you a bunch of things to try on. This boutique is one where you can't go searching through racks on your own; they basically have hundreds of stacked bins/drawers full of bras in every size and they go through and pick out a handful for you based on your size and breast shape.
Sometimes I cringe at the prices, but there are days (like today) when the selection and quality of service are worth paying the $50-$100 per bra, just for the peace of mind of knowing you are getting a good fitting bra and you don't have to go through a bunch of exchanges or returns before you get something that fits.
So I really appreciate those mom and pop specialty bra boutiques that really go the extra mile. And thanks to all the blogs and independent online shops, too, who really work hard to help women find the best fitting bra.

Hear hear! I wish everyone would read your story before complaining about prices of bras they can try on in person before buying.
i'm jealous. I would have to fly 4 hours to reach a boutique that stocked more than a handful of Fs for less than 200 CAD to try on. GGs or Hs? for less than 100 USD? that I could actually try on? So not fair!
