PayPal protection and how you pay
This is just a friendly reminder that PayPal offers two ways to pay: the goods/services mode, and the friends/family type of payment. ONLY the goods and services payment entitles you to PayPal protection. If you buy a bra from a person or a business and send the money with the friends and family method (sometimes known among users as "gifted payment") PayPal offers you zero protection. If the seller doesn't ship, your money is gone forever.
Similarly, sellers, if you accept a friends/family payment you will have no recourse if the buyer later files a chargeback with their bank claiming it was unauthorized or something like that. PP does not recognize friends/family payments as transactions.

Thanks for bringing this up. It is actually in the recommendations to use that method:

I'll pin this for a few days.
Thanks for the reminder/clarification, @wendybien. Very good point both ways.
