Advice for shoulder/neck pain days? Suggestions for practical corsets?

Even in the delightful world of owning bras that fit and actually support, I still have the occasional nerve pain flare up day, where bra straps of any sort are intolerable. In the past I've ordered inexpensive (but terribly gaudy and impractical) overbust corsets from amazon and wear those in order to get some support - at least around the house. However, since I've lost 60 pounds over the past 8 months, all my old corsets are useless and I thought, before I buy more of the same goofy, barely supportive costume-y corsets, I should ask around bratabase!

Can any of you suggest support solutions that don't involve any neck/shoulder contact? I'd love to hear any ideas. Or even if anyone in the 28HH range has a working strapless bra or strapless longline they can recommend.

In a more general query - I bet everyone has days where they simply can't tolerate a bra - what do you do instead?!

  • mostly I wear bands as tight as possible and straps as loose as possible and that usually suffices for my shoulders. If you do get any hits for strapless or corsets, please post them though! My bigger problem is underwires. I usually end up wearing bra sized bralettes or underwireless for at least part of the day when the underwires rubbing and rib flare pain causes me to, sometimes ungently, rip my bra off. I have never delved into corsets, mostly because the most commonly available ones look so goofy. If you find something that works, please share!!!

  • what about strapless?
