What is Apex?

Would someone please point me to an article or graphic that explains apex? I'm confused about what it is and what it means regarding fit, especially with pendulous breasts and/or soft tissue. And in half cups - do they even have an apex? I see many folks referring to it in regards to fit & projection, but all I know about is immediate - at the wire - projection since that's my bugaboo. What does apex do, how do you locate it on boobs and on a bra, if its wrong how do you know -all that good stuff! Thanks!

  • The apex is the deepest part of the bra. Where you should be measuring cup depth. Half cups def have an apex. For some folks (like me) apex projection is really important because we have long pendulous boobs and need room. Also, if the apex is too high or too low it can cause a shape mismatch. See my pics of 42H - Elomi ยป Tara Half Cup (4170) where the apex of the bra is actually higher than my breast tissue, causing the cup to gape.

  • so while it is the deepest part of the cup, its also sort of where the 'point' is for the cup, the part that comes out the farthest from your body.
