Why are they adding inches?!

I wear a 28F to 30 E (sometimes DD) depending on the brand. My main size that I have the most luck with is 30 E This site puts me at a 32D - 32DD - 32E. I have some 32 DD bras since they are my 'sister size' however after a few months of wear the band always becomes loose. Then I have to wear them on the tightest hook. But I can't wear those bras for more than a year because they get so ridiculously loose it's just... NO. 30 is a TAD tight but after a bit of wear it's perfect. Seriously stop adding inches. Material today is made to stretch! It only makes sense if someone's boobs are CLOSE TOGETHER and NEED the extra bit of band for the the cups to reach them (because they don't start at the armpit). Other than that I feel it's an excuse for stores (Victoria Secret and La Senza I'm looking at you!) to not offer more variety. "Oh you just add a few more inches..." No how about you start offering correct sizes?

  • If you buy higher quality bras, they dont stretch out as quickly. My panache bras take at least a full year to go to the 2nd hook

  • The recommendations are just a system based on what other people with your measurements marked as fitting. So, it's thrown off by user error. It's not meant to be a calculator. The calculator we usually recommend is here:

None of us recommend adding inches in the band, the recommendation system is not perfect.
