Sometimes, I hate being a part of this community/knowing better...

... because every time someone who is obviously NOT a 36B says "OMG my boobs so small only B cup" and I ask her what her waistline is and she's all like "28 inches" I just want to die. I know that if I try and show her these things on the internet like Bratabase, /r/ABraThatFit and Busty Resources, I will just get the same old "But I got sized at Victoria's Secret/ Well in AMERICAN sizes I wear a 38DD/ That must be sizing special to THAT brand/ They must be wearing the wrong sizes!/ I like when my band rides up, it's comfy" comeback, and they just look at me like I'm insane when I say that I wear 24F/28DD (pre-pregnancy) even when I show them my bra and how it fits. It feels kinda useless to me to try and help my friends get into better sizes because they insist on wearing their old sizes because they're AMERICAN sizes ad UK sizes are "wrong" -_-

Only gay men and two really fat girls (not just chubby or fluffy) have been open to this new knowledge of bras. I guess the more heavyset women are more willing to accept an explanation for their back pains/straps digging in etc. aside from their bodies being "wrong" and for some reason, a lot of the gay (male and trans female) kids at my community college know that VS does it wrong (for the current bra technology anyway).

Why must I be cursed with some knowledge of proper bra fitting? Why have I learned from this community? XD And why does everyone else here seem to have more willing friend and relatives? My sister is still insisting that she fits perfectly into a 32A despite her waistline being 22 inches. Sometimes I feel like I would have been better off never knowing.

What I do love about this community, however, is the fact that y'all have already been enlightened and every time I read something here about bra sizes and fit I don't feel insane anymore. Thanks for existing, folks.

  • I know the feeling! I hate it when people won't listen to what I'm saying and just bash it before they've even listened to me fully. I never talk about it unless being approached. "I hate my bras, I hate that xxxxxx and xxxx", then I briefly have a chat about how a bra really should fit, leaving out the details like orange in a glass and etc; I talk about how the band should be level and there should be no overspill nor gaping and that how you put on a bra affects the whole fit A LOT! I really don't bother when they won't listen. The ones who have listened are my mother, my sister and a friend of mine. Others who I've talked to about it haven't seemed like they're really convinced, and I just don't bother talking to someone who's not that interested.

And btw, 22 inches?! That's the smallest I've ever heard of :P Is she a grown-up or a pre-teen? (I'm not trying to be rude, it's just that I've never ever heard of someone with such a small underbust)

  • None of my friends seem to care about having the right sizes either. They do listen to me and most of them don't think I'm crazy or wrong. But they don't really care as long as what they have "fits".
