Parfait Charlotte Wires

Today I got a Parfait Charlotte in 28HH in Purple Wine (*Swoon*. this is one of my FAVORITE colors).

Do the wires soften up after some wear and wash? Because OUCH. These are some heavy duty wires. They dig in at the front bottom of the cups, threatening to crush my ribs. I also tried this bra in a 30HH, where the band was too large and I had more room at the bottom of the cups and I still had this pain from the wires.

I absolutely love the color, the side support, the 4 hooks, and the shape I get in this bra. I REALLY don't want to return it, but I am not sure I will ever wear it if it's always so painful :(

  • It might be beneficial to post a fit check. Does the gore tack? It sounds like the wires are tilting away from your chest at the top, causing them to dig in at the bottom.

  • Charlotte is pretty shallow at the wire, so having extra space / OIAG / a fold / wires being pushed down to your ribs makes sense.

With such firm wires I wouldn't count on them actually 'softening'. However it may be possible to bend them a bit, to better accomodate your ribs?

Also if you love the bra, I've heard people replacing the wires with less firm ones.. (or the other way around). Haven't done so myself but undoubtedly some BTB users will have advice on that alteration :)
