Good morning! Hope you can shed some light on these difficulties I have with bra fit. Supposed to wear a 36D by measurements. However, the cut of the bra is always very uncomfortable. If I get a regular type bra with the inverted "V" shaped panel in the center front, it gaps away from my body and feels like it is too tall. If I take it up and make the "V" smaller to where it is almost straight, it seems more comfortable for a little while but after about an hour it is very uncomfortable. The straight cut of the band also digs into my skin. If I get a front closure, the bra wrinkles/bulges up and appears too tall in the front. The plunging front closure bras feel as if the breasts will fall out of the cup and my breasts bounce from the lack of support. Also usually have to make darts in the cups to keep the cup from wrinkling and gapping away from the body. I do know that I have the conical shaped breast and that I am hollow chested above the breast, not round as the design of the bra dictates. Also want a bra with four hooks in the back - bras with less hooks tend to ride up on the back.

  • Which bras have you tried? Specific models and measurements will help us help you. Also, you may receive good advice on a Fit Request which you can create for one of all of your bras.

  • also, i'm wondering which measurements said you are a 36D? Many 'fitters' at stores will measure you and then just find the closest thing they ahve in the store, rather than what you actually should be wearing.

It sounds like you might be describing what we call "full on bottom' breasts, where you have a lot more breast tissue below your nipples, but the breast does not round up above the nipples.

But it also could be more like 'chicken'chested' where your rib cage has a strange hollow.

Its really hard to help from just words, which is why we have fit requests here. I know it can be nervewracking to post pics, but you cut out your face but give us views from various angles, plus measurements of you and the bras, and we are more likely to be able to help.

Bras riding up in the back usually means the band is too big - sometimes fitters say you are a 36D but you are really a 32E or something. but they dont carry those - i buy all my bras on Amazon because I'm a 32JJ
