Why do you love bras?

I was thinking this morning, realizing how many bras I've ordered in the past few weeks alone. (I gotta cut myself off now lol.) I know some users here just want to find a single darn bra that fits. And others seem to have a passion for bras. I think of it as a semi-hobby. Why do I enjoy "collecting" bra experiences? I say experiences because half of the time the fit isn't good enough for me to keep the bra. Is it the quest to find *The One* bra to rule them all, the one that will be a 100% match for you? Is it enjoying the different fabrics, colours, patterns, brands, and cuts, and fits and seeing how they work on you?

I think I am a little of both, plus I enjoy shopping so this is another outlet for that. Another part for me has to do with body image issues. I had/have body dysmorphic disorder and garden-variety low self-esteem but my breasts are one of the few body parts I feel mostly ok with. I don't have fun clothes shopping because it brings up negative feelings, but bra shopping is a comfortable way I can indulge in the fun of personal style. And it feels nice to have things I like that fit well, even if the only one who sees them is me (and users here too lol).

I'm interested in reading your reasons!

  • I love bras! I have somewhat of a bra shopping addiction, and have been like that for years. I love the different colors and patterns, but I also love plain black and plain beige. I spent a long time hating my boobs and how they looked in most bras that I was wearing - not really because of their size, but because of their shape. I never had those perky breasts with upturned nipples, even as a teen. Now that I know what to look for in a bra, there is very little trial and error. Now, it's all about the fun of seeing how my boobs look in new boob clothes! And matching panties? Yes, please!

  • I feel like it's a form of self care, because really the only person who gets any benefit from it is myself. My SO couldn't care less what kind of bra I am wearing. Also, I get thrill from finding a bra that fits for under $30, when for years I wore ill fitting bras that cost $60.
