Boob building or bra/boob training?

The more I see from the bra fitting community; (swoop and scoop, breast migration, bra band project), the more I want to get another word for it.

To me it seems what is really done is like tightlacing for boobs; changing our bodies into looking differently to fit into another ideal.

We say "if it ends up in proper fitting bra it's breast tissue". As if all boobs would be made as bras are made. As if there were not flat bottom creases, no uneven or teardrop shaped boobs, no convertibility of boob shape, no very shallow nor very deep boobs. Braologie on the other hand claims it's all breast tissue. What's the truth?

The more we learn about bra fitting the less fitting bras we find. No wonder, as there is no thing as a perfectly fitting bra and I would say what we become is simply more and more skilled in naming and pinpointing fit issues.

But between all different bra fitting ideals and tastes what are we doing? Are the bras today made working for what we are trying to use them for?

Some of my bras are what I call "migration devises". That altered 34J - Panache » Ariza Balconnet Bra (5051) is so far my best migration devise. 32GG - Braologie » Posture Contour Bra Lacie was another.

I cannot wear a bra without a very very tight band without loosing half of my top tissue. I end up with more and more symmastia in the gore because the "migrated" parts of my boobs ends there in the top middle. Boob building, bra training.

Please can't we just give breast migration a proper name and leave the urban legends behind? Breast migration obviously works, but so does tightlacing :) There's nothing wrong with it, it's cool.

Disclaimer: I understand it doesn't work equally for all of us, and sometimes even glandular tissue migration happens. Also on a skinnier body breast migration won't happen as often.

  • Yup, agreed.

I seem to have managed to push some tissue that was spread out on my ribs into my breasts; but I actually believe it's got something to do with hormones and fat tissue redisposition in my case as I've never consistently worn too small bras.
I also base my theory on witnessing the same thing happening to my bottom half, where I do not wear bras. I've out-curved my jeans.

Yes, yes, yes! And yes to the boob moulding/building thing.

Here's a word nobody likes: vanity.

I am well aware of mine. I do not care if that fluff on my back is migrated breast tissue or not. If I can get rid of it by scooping, I will.
But If I like a too small bra too much for some reason, I will not scoop as vigorously.

To a point, I do think it's adjusting boobs in a bra, but after that it's all boob building/molding.

And on TallSkinnyCurvy s note -
I think my lovehandles are the product of tight low rise skinny yeans and hipster panties. And I think that women 50-60 years ago didn't have them because they wore highwaisted everything.
    So here's to fat moulding!
