Dear Dept. Store Bra Lady,

Yes. I really need an H or higher in Wacoal.
Yes. I know how to measure myself.
No. For me, I don't add 3" to get the band size.
Yes. I really am 45" full bust measurement.
Yes. I really do know how to measure myself.
Yes. That is part of my boob under my arm.

I'm perfectly happy to SHOW you why I cannot wear that 34G you gave me to try on. I appreciate that you found it, but I'm not going to buy it if I need the 34H or 34I (that they may not make) instead.

*sigh*

I should've known it was going to be bad when I asked, "Do you carry any bras in G or higher?" and she gave me that look. She actually said, "You don't need a G-cup," while staring at my chest. Later on... "An H will be too big."

One good thing: I found a Wacoal bra that might actually fit me if they make it in a 34H-J. It's short enough, the apex is lower, the straps are not as wideset, and the band has 3 hooks. Now to figure out if it comes in larger cups than the 34G I tried on.

  • Hang in there drownedsalad ! I'm rooting for you!

  • Thanks DarianaWheeland !

I knew exactly what I wanted to try on, so it wasn't a big deal. It was just sad that the bra lady didn't understand how to fit someone that doesn't have the "standard" shape that people seem to think boobs are supposed to be.

I had to explain to her a half-dozen times that... no, really, the bottom of my boob is that wide and I really need the wire that wide. She seemed to not comprehend that the wire length and gore height were different fit issues than wire width.

Once she saw my tape measure, she stopped telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, but I'm sure that she didn't believe a thing I said. :D
