I have a new breast friend! 😂

So, here’s a bit of backstory:

A few weeks ago I saw a post from a girl in my local area “sell your old clothes” group on Facebook. She posted that she had 3 huge garbage bags full of clothes, bras, etc. So I ask what size the bras are (of course), to which they replied something like 34/36B. Naturally, being the confident person that I am with my size, and my nature to want to fit everyone properly and break the myths and stereotypes, I replied very casually that I was a 30F and that the ones that she had wouldn’t fit. So then I get the following comment from another member on the page:

“(My real name here) OMG YOU'RE MY SIZE (pretty much) (oh wow this has never happened to me before) (Don't want to hijack the post, DM me, I might have some bras/strapless bathing suit tops that might fit you .)”

So we’ve been messaging since. She had a pending Figleaves order and a few things that might fit. We had already planned on getting together yesterday, but it turned out that the order was ready to be picked up at the post office yesterday as well, so she brought it with her and the other bras for me to try. I brought my Curvy Kate Bardot because it’s a little bit big on me, and we determined she’s similar size but a little bit bigger than I am.

We met at a local tea shop that has a shop side and a cafe side. She arrived before I did and messaged me saying that she was looking at the pretty tea pots. I reply, “are you a tea fanatic like I am too?” to which she says “yes”. I’m super excited, so I messaged back asking if she has wavy or curly hair at all and she’s like “yep, got a Jew fro...but it’s straight today” and I respond, “you’re a member of the tribe too.?!” Because at this point, that’s 4 things in common before we’ve even met face to face. Tea and wavy hair are among my other *cough* obsessions. Later, our mutual interest in Harry Potter came out too. So I’m nearly there, feeling pretty stoked about the meeting, and I have a stupid huge grin on my face. I get to the shop and indeed I find her in the back looking at cute tea pots.

We switched over to the cafe side, get a lovely pink lemonade tea fizzer thing (had pink lemonade tea, strawberry purée, an orange san pellegrino) each because we both think that it looks amazing, and decided to share the last macaron because damn, it looks so good (though everything looks good), and then chat for a bit just learning a bit about each other. The drink was good, and we were glad to share the macaron...it was huge and rich, but delicious.

After that, we crossed the street to the mall and got some sale panties from La Senza...she was a lot more fun in her choices, while I was more conservative and there to try and get things that matched well enough with some of my bras (which I brought to try on with). But I did break out of my comfort zone, as she enabled me to get something that I have never tried before. We both laughed at how, no, we won’t be part of the bra club that they have, as they don’t have our sizes. Underwear is about the only thing that we can buy from them. Maybe the odd Panama’s or lounge clothes.

After that, we went into The Bay (for a laugh) to see if we could find any bralettes that might fit our small band larger cup sizes. Ha ha! We’d both been wanting something more relaxed. Especially with the heat making things feel tight sometimes right now. I tried on stuff she had for me and the stuff from her order (which I knew had a chance of not fitting unless it was small fitting). The swim tops didn’t fit, the Just Peachy almost fit (was 30FF), the Panache Sports Bra was a close fit but again a 30FF so a cup larger, but the Shock Absorber was actually pretty close to fitting (I forget the size of that one). She tried a few of my bras, and my 30FF Bardot fit her better than me. The other ones were too small, but she tried to get ideas the same way as I tried slightly too big ones. Anyway, we had rooms next to each other and we tried on all the things and passed some stuff back and forth. We adjusted each others straps and fits and had commentary between the rooms. Lol. We cried at the pretties that we so wanted to work; we laughed at the angry nipples that one of the DKNY bralettes gave us with the sheer mesh cups (it’s actually a really comfortable style, but it’s just so...awkward).

She does not know about shape or bra aspect, and a basic idea of how a bra fits, but not advanced. So I taught her about some of the parts of the bra and what they are called, as well as features (narrow wires, tall/wide gores, etc) which helped her figure out what some of her fit problems are. I tried on my bras and showed her aspects of each that differed, and in some cases, where there’s a fit issue. I told her about the upside down cups on the back trick which she thought was brilliant, and I helped her figure out her fullness. We laughed at a lot of the bralettes, but a few were ok. We both liked the same ones naturally. Ha ha! In the end, she got this @Jockey crop top bralette and matching panties. Turned out it was on sale and she got me a set too, in exchange for the Bardot. Yay! Again, it’s kind of out of my comfort zone and it’s a bit more sporty than I would normally go for, but it’s still cute and comfortable. And I’m grateful that she got a set for me in exchange for the Bardot. We went to a cheap shop on the way out of the mall that had a cute romper thing that she convinced me to try, which we both liked except the off the shoulder bit.

I never got to showing her how to measure bras or using this site, but we spent 3 hours together, and she had to get home as she’s dog sitting. But it’s still in the plans for another get together. And we’re going to plan a road trip in the future to a specialty shop that is about half hour outside of town. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely be getting together again. We got along well, and I am so glad that I was frank with my size on the post and that she saw it and responded. I have a new friend now because of it!
