Do I need narrower cups?

I recently tried the best fitting bras I've ever tried.

I used to wear bras that didn't 'tack', that would never stay in my 'IMF' and slide down at least an inch! And whose wires on the side has given me what I'm pretty sure are permanent dark marks under my armpits, and i realize now they 'supported' me more like sports bras. (I used to never understand why Someone couldn't just use their normal bras for sports lol)

Being short rooted, narrow, projected, and pendulous, I tried a Cleo Hettie and a Cleo Kayla, which were my first experience with bras that did what a bra is supposed to do! Support and 'carry' rather than squish down!

I'm still finding that though these new bras feels so much better fitting to me, with a tacking gore, and no quadboob, it still slides down a little from my IMF, maybe a centimeter at times. Also, the bottom of the cups wrinkle/fold a little.

I assumed this was still a depth ratio issue, because I feel like the wires could be narrower still, but looking at the bras in my size range (30G), there aren't many bras with better depth ratios, and I'm not even sure that that is the issue. I keep reading that Ewa Michalak and Comexim are very projected, but bratabase lists them as having the same/less depth ratio than Cleo Kayla.

From this info, could anyone tell me if they know what it means to have this fitting problem, is it a question of not enough depth ratio? Or something else? And given this info, would anyone have any recommendations for bras to try?

  • Honestly, as nervewracking as it can be to take the plunge, a fit request with pictures gives us the best chance. If your breasts are unusually long and narrow and firm, it may be hard to find a bra thats a perfect fit. but maybe its more about the immediate projection (like if your breast comes straight out from your body at the bottom, or if it has a gradual curve - most bras have a more gradual curve that doesnt work well for a lot of us)

also, not all comexim are projected, you have to be careful with that assumption. Ewas are, I think, generally more projected, at least in my size range

  • The depth ratio is just in reference to the depth at the apex of the bra, & doesn't factor in how projected it is closer to the wire. Some bras/brands are more immediately projected, while others not so much.

That is where "bra on" photos (angle and side view) are great to look at, as you can see if the bra is immediately projected or if it's more of a gradual projection.

As @dbmamaz stated, Comexim may/may not be, dependent on the bra model/size *and* if it was ordered with "deeper at the wire" as well. Plus projection and angle of incline varies greatly by band/cup combo, so results are very size specific. What I experience on average (28:16) is not what other sizes do in most other sizes.
