Comexim alterations

So I think that I’m going to save up for a plunge in a cup size larger so that I can get reduced cups and straps moved in....so theoretically a 65J or 70HH, depending on how tight the band is. I was initially thinking that I might try to get one of the cheapest ones to try getting alterations on rather than one that I really want. I mean, I’d still pick one I like enough to wear but it is more diagnostic and bra science. And then I can know if it’s a good fit to order what I like. Does this sound like a good idea? I feel like I would not be as sad if it didn’t work out with a bra that was not my first choice. But then if I did go with the one I want all along, then hopefully I won’t need to save money again to buy the one that I *really* wanted all along.

Second question...if I go with the cheaper ones, are there suggested styles that would be better to start with than others? I know Ingrid is cheap, but it’s got questionable fit issues as well. I’m looking at maybe ones that are more the standard than the exception.

Thanks!

  • When I first tried the reduce cup height and move in straps, I ordered a size up and it was too big. The reduce cup height takes away more material at the strap than at the gore, so does not affect the cup depth. If you actually need tall cups this will make you need to size up. Unfortunately you won’t know until you actually get the alteration done.

  • I personally would suggest going with what you want instead of settling for cheaper, especially since it's only a few dollar difference really. That being said, I really like Chevron, and it is one of the cheaper ones. Queen of Hearts is nice too. (Good VDay bra!) I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think that the Ingrid fit issues are all BoB ones which are not made like Comexim direct ones. (Aside from the normal "general" fit issues that is. )

With straps moved in and reduced cup I didn't need to size up either. Though it did leave the tops of my nips exposed..... 😄😬😄
