So for all of us who have been living under a rock... What the heck is going on with Ewa Michalak ?
Could someone please explain what "Strapgate" is all about and why they won't make bands below 65 anymore?

  • A lot of women have had issues with EM bras - namely that the straps are too wide-set and the cups are too tall at the underarm, leading to a ridiculous amount of rubbing, cutting in, and not being able to tighten the straps enough.

A few bloggers and customers mentioned this problem, and EM posted on their English facebook page, asking if the problem was common. Post here: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=500551003348394&id=393975224005973
They received feedback from many, many women, the majority of whom said they had issues with the strap placement. Instead of listening to the invited feedback, they (very rudely) refused to hear it, and told every person who commented that they were wearing the wrong size, and that the problems were due to too-tight bands. They instructed everyone to use the EM calculator, which only sort of works if you pull the tape so tight you'll slice yourself in half (which, apparently, is how tight it should be).

They seem to have taken all of the comments as a personal attack, rather than feedback that they asked for. It seems they've now decided that since people have brought up issues in these sizes, they might as well not make small band sizes anymore. Hopefully it isn't just out of pettiness, and they're actually taking the time to review the strap placement, but at the moment I don't have my hopes up. For the foreseeable future, there are no sub-65 bands, except (I think) in the 3D and 3DM bras.

  • Ewa Michalak had such a good thing going for them and so many loyal customers. It's completely baffling why they would behave in such a manner. It seems as if they want less business, not more.

I really can't think of any reason to ask for feedback and then start attacking customers. I would've been better if they HADN'T asked.

I won't be buying anything from them, that's for sure.
