Back to bra hell, or US-market crap. Since finding this site, I have worn Fantasie (32 band) and loved them. But now my breasts are 3-4 sizes different, and the tacking gore is irritating (pressure on my sternum is painful). If I go up a band size, the straps are much too wide-set. They're already falling off due to the different in cup size.

I tried on a Wacoal 34DD Retro Chic and liked it, bought it and after wearing a couple hours, couldn't wait to tear it off. 34 is like UK 32 (even though their tag says it's like UK 34).

Boobs are pendulous, FOB to the point of puddling in the cups--no amount of pushing up will push up an oyster. Narrow, sloping shoulders. Less than a finger width separation. Forward projecting. So I need a true 34 band, kicked-in straps and in a perfect world, a balconette style cup but that will never happen given the other requirements.

Any hope?

  • Maybe add your current (approximate) size in Fantasie (despite bad strap placing, it will give a sense of cup volume and help people suggest models available in other brands and suitable foryour size range)?

FWIW I also have this problem with Fantasie and most UK brands. Virtually all their designs have straps set too far apart for me. The only one with comfortably centered straps for me was the Fantasie Jacqueline, which is quite old-fashioned in appearance--not sure if you would like it, but I like the retro vibes.

The Retro Chic is a very popular design but it's wildly atypical in its sizing, so unfortunately your experience with that may not help too much. It runs huge in the cup, for one thing. Also quite a few Wacoal and Natori bras run bizarrely tight in the band.

  • Fantasie 32E at the moment. Thanks for the info on the Retro being so odd. At least I know I'm not imagining things!
