Revelation in Fit!

The heat was bearing down on Thursday night, so my son and I decided to head over the hill to Oakland to enjoy an ice-cream dinner at the amazing Fentons Creamery. I knew Revelation in Fit was in Oakland, so I quickly googled it, and oh. my. goodness. It was just two blocks away! And open till 7:00! Fentons had to wait a bit.

After greeting me warmly, the saleslady offered me a fitting. She said it would take 45 minutes to an hour. I said I had 15 minutes. She was game, so off we went to challenge the clock!

She first asked me to lift my bra up to get my underbust, then measured my overbust over my unlined bra, and disappeared to hunt down some bras. I was a little surprised, but to her credit, she did get my right size.

In my 15 minutes I was able to try on 3 bras. First a Panache Ava plunge, which surprised me greatly by being comfortable as well as good looking. But also a tad too small in the largest available cup size. And then two Ewa Michalaks! Now THAT was exciting! I have been very hesitant to try Ewas, worried the wires would be too narrow. But the first one she brought, “Velvet” in the S line, seemed to fit well! The second was also an S, printed with marijuana leaves and called “Legal Ganga”! Nooot exactly my aesthetic, but you do you! Interestingly, they were both labeled as 38 bands in black colorways, but the Ganga was quite a bit tighter in the band, even in a cupsize larger.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to walk around in the bras or take good pics, but it gave me enough of a taste to feel confident that Ewas could work for me as a short, short-waisted, short-rooted FOB person with lots of projection.

So I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Revelation in Fit if you can get there. And afterwards, go up the street to Fentons. You won’t be sorry!

  • So awesome! It’s great that some places now have Ewas in store. I’m curious what one the “velvet” was.

  • I grew up in the general area (Contra Costa County) but haven't been back in 15 years or so. If only they had been there back in the day....I would have lived in the store! If I ever make it back there, I will definitely go to Revelation, though as a Vegan I will skip Fentons. 😬😂😬
