Experiences with Bradelis sizing?

I came across Bradelis through a lingerie blog, and since finishing the Netflix series Atelier I've been interested in picking up a Japanese bra, just for the frills. However, the Bradelis sizing guide is very strange, and I'm not sure whether or not it can be trusted to blindly order $100 worth of bras (I checked their paid ground shipping option and it was about $18 if you don't hit the $100 free shipping minimum!).

Based on my measurements of 33" bust, 27.5" underbust, the Bradelis sizing guide tells me to order a 32D. Or, if I "like the tight under band," sister size down to 30E. I am a pretty solid 28DD in the UK brands, and I just don't know that the 30 or 32 bands would make sense, though assuming that the Japanese cup system runs 1 size off from UK, 28DD UK would be the appropriate equivalent to 28F and would be two sister sizes down from their 32D recommendation.

Furthermore, when I read user reviews of Bradelis bras here, the comments are pretty mixed on whether the bras run true to size, and there is a lot of variation between unlined and the different padded styles as well. I really have no idea if 32D or 30E would be the better choice.

Does anyone have general experience with Bradelis sizing that they can speak to? Thoughts on if it would be a good idea to order $100 worth of random sale bras "just to try" or should I just keep my curiosity at bay until I make a trip to the NYC boutique?

  • I remember reading about Japanese bras on /r/ABraThatFits. I'd recommend checking over there. I think I read that they are small and covered in padding.

  • @Sovavosi, thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll just hold off until I can visit the boutique in person. It's one thing if they all ran consistently small, but it seems to be all over the place. Too risky!
