I need a whole lot of help with size conversions.

The whole multiple D system confuses me to no end.
Is DD suppose to be equivalent to E or is that DDD? Does that make DDDD similar to an F? I saw one Wacoal bra labeled G in Macy's today. It was a band size too big though.

I'm pretty sure I'm a 32FF. I was trying on bra's at the Nordstrom's Rack. (FYI most of the bras were around $30, so it's a good place to check if they have your size.) They had a couple of Freya's and Cleo's but there were no FF sizes just F's and G's. The 32G's had just a little bit of gaping, and the 32F's I felt like I was spilling over on the side. I tried a 30G that fit pretty well in the cups but I didn't like the style of the bra.

Do FF's not translate to American sizing, is it like a weird inbetween size? Or was it just a coincidence that they didn't have them? Because I've been on size conversion charts before and they don't list FF under UK sizes. http://www.brasize.com/uk-to-us-eu-fr-it-au.html So is the chart wrong or am I missing something?

  • Usually on Nordstroms tags they have size equivalents for different countries. Even at the Rack they should still be listed like that. DD can be an E in some brands but so can DDD, and that can also be called an F. Freya, Fantasie, Circus Kate and Panache use DD, E, F, DD, G, GG, and so on. Chantelle is a bit different, I believe they follow American sizing even though they're French (I think?), so their sizes would go DD, F, G, H. Check the tags and if you need to, because sometimes Nordstroms sales associates can be daffy, ask what the specific UK size is. I've had so many times going into that store asking for an F and the bring me an E in US sizes. Then sometimes they overcompensate and bring me a G in UK sizes!

Just noticed thw link. Those seem a little off. But again it does depend on brand.

  • I guess I should add that a lot of the tags were mislabeled. I had to check the labels on the bras. And those had the same size for UK and US.

And the DD/DDD/DDDD/G confusion happened at Macy's. I doubt I'll go back there. I don't think they had my size regardless.
